The British Council has announced another increase in the IELTS Academic test fee in Bangladesh. Effective June 9, the fee will be increased by 9 percent in two phases.

Under the revised fee structure, the IELTS Academic test fee will rise from BDT 28,450 to BDT 31,010. To reduce the immediate financial burden on candidates, the increase will be implemented in two stages. The first half of the increase (4.5 percent) takes effect on June 9, while the remaining adjustment will be applied in September.

This follows a previous fee increase in June 2025, when the cost of all IELTS test formats was raised from BDT 24,950 to BDT 28,450.

The latest decision is expected to place additional financial pressure on Bangladeshi students planning to pursue higher education abroad.
