👥 بعض العبارات المعبرة على العلاقات - Relationship idioms - Part 1 🗣

🔴 Positive:

▪️go back a long way = تعرف واحد منذ مدة طويلة، يعني كاينة عشرة بيناتكم
e.g. Those two go back a long way. They were at primary school together

▪️have a soft spot for somebody = معناتها تشتي واحد بزاف، يطيحلك انسان على القوسطو
e.g. She'd always had a soft spot for her younger nephew

▪️ Break the ice = (في موقف يكون weird أو يكونو زوج ما يعرفوش بعضاهم، يعني غير ما تلاقاو) تقول / تعمل حاجة باش تكسر حاجز الصمت والتوتر بيناتكم
e.g. I tried to break the ice by talking to the people next to me about the weather

▪️ Icebreaker = كلمة، لعبة، أو نكتة تكسر حاجز التوتر بين شخصين و تخليهم يحكيو بطلاقة.
e.g. Some of the best icebreakers to start a conversation are: introducing yourself, commenting on the surroundings, or giving a compliment.

▪️get off on the wrong foot with someone = معناتها تغلط مع واحد في البداية، تدخلها بدية عيانة بكاش جاست
e.g. She really got off on the wrong foot with her new boss

▪️Be like cat and dog = كي تحكي على زوج يظلو متّاكلين كي الكلاب ولّا كي القط و الفار
e.g. Those two are like cat and dog

▪️rub someone up the wrong way = تشريها لكاش واحد، تنيرفي كاش واحد (عادة دون قصد).
e.g. his supreme self-confidence is likely to rub many up the wrong way

▪️keep someone at arm's length = تقطع الدسارة لكاش واحد باش ما يزيدش يطلع فوق راسك
e.g. I’m keeping her at arm’s length for the time being
