IDAC pays tribute to pilot and communicator Franklin Polanco; names the main lecture hall of ASCA after him.
In an emotional ceremony held at the Punta Caucedo aeronautical complex, we paid tribute to Franklin Polanco: pilot, communicator and one of the main promoters of the country's aeronautical development.
At the meeting headed by the general director of IDAC, Héctor Porcella, the civil aviation leadership celebrated the naming of the main lecture hall of the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (ASCA), with the name of the renowned Dominican professional.
“Thank you Franklin for your enormous contribution to the development of civil aviation in the Dominican Republic and for accompanying us in the efforts to successfully face and overcome these last 4 years,” Porcella stressed when formalizing the tribute.
The ceremony was attended by Polanco's wife and children and the main aviation authorities, including the commander general of the Air Force of the Dominican Republic, Major General Carlos Febrillet Rodríguez; the general director of the Specialized Corps of Airport Security, General Floreal Suarez Martinez; the member of the Civil Aviation Board, Tony Yapor; the deputy director of IDAC, Miguel Mejia; and the director of ASCA, Clara Fernandez.
Patria de Polanco, wife; and Franklin Polanco Jr., spoke at the ceremony to thank the recognition on behalf of the entire family, represented by their 5 children and 7 grandchildren.
