AFFECTS THE INTERNET AS A YOUTH.

Internet has established itself in the lives of many people over the past two decades despite initial concerns that teens entering the 'unknown'. There are a number of risks for adolescents, suggesting that real relationships and friendships would be rejected by cyber relationships. But a study conducted by a group of Dutch researchers and published in the journal Current Directions in Psychological Science.

first approaches
Internet has become an instrument of social communication due to the increasing number of teenagers using technology at your fingertips. Just a decade ago, only one in ten adolescents had Internet access. Therefore, teenagers were forced to choose between real and relationships online. The researchers said that because of the small overlap, adolescents had difficulty maintaining 'flesh while exploring cyberspace. "

Paradigm shifts
Now that most of the Western adolescents have Internet access, it was found that adolescents use technology to keep more than build nuevas.Además relations, the emergence of new communication tools helps teens to develop further existing relationships and not to isolate them. Valkenburg and Peter The teachers stated that teens who used the Internet in the nineties typically communicated with foreign channels via message exchange and multi-role games (MUD).

new situation
So, thanks to the influence of new social media websites, including MySpace and Facebook are included, and instant messaging (IM), the situation has changed. More than eight in ten teens use IM to connect with people they see every day.

conclusions
Researchers believe that ASCoR Internet provides teens the tools they need to open up and talk about personal issues: communication via Internet provides teens the boost they need because the distractions are minimal. The fewer distractions, the less influence they receive from the way people see them, according to Professors Valkenburg and Peter. The result reduces inhibition and causes more personal conversations.

Note
The research also showed that 'hyperpersonal chats over the Internet "fuels stronger friendships, which causes feelings of happiness and emotions devoid of stress. It should be noted that the mere fact of 'surfing' the Internet does not have any positive effect on adolescents, especially on their welfare or their feelings of connecting with others. Also, talk to strangers in public chat seems to be potentially dangerous.

WHAT IS DRUG ADDICTION?

Addiction is defined as a chronic relapsing brain disease characterized by compulsive seeking and drug use, despite harmful consequences. It is considered a brain disease because drugs change the brain: they change its structure and how it works. These changes can be long lasting and lead to the harmful behaviors seen in people who abuse drugs.
Why do people take drugs?

In general, people begin to use drugs for different reasons:

To feel good. Most abused drugs produce intense feelings of pleasure. This initial sensation of euphoria is followed by other effects, which differ according to the type of drug used. For example, with stimulants such as co***ne, the "high" or euphoria is followed by feelings of power, self-confidence and increased energy. In contrast, the euphoria caused by opiates such as he**in is followed by feelings of relaxation and satisfaction.
To feel better. Some people who suffer from social anxiety, stress-related disorders or depression begin abusing drugs in an attempt to lessen feelings of distress. Stress can play a major role in determining if someone starts or continues to abuse drugs and relapses in patients who are recovering from addiction.
To do better. The need some people feel to improve their athletic or cognitive performance with chemicals may play a similar role in initial experimentation and continued drug abuse.
Curiosity and "because others do." In this respect adolescents are particularly vulnerable because of the strong influence of the pressure on them from their friends and peers. It is more likely, for example, engage in daring or challenging behaviors.

If the drug makes people feel good or better, what's the problem?

At first, some people perceive what seem to be positive effects with drug use. They also believe they can control their use. However, drugs can quickly take over their lives. Consider how a social drinker intoxicated you can get in a car and quickly turn a pleasurable activity into a tragedy for him and for others. Over time, if drug use continues, pleasurable activities become less pleasurable, and drug abuse becomes necessary for users to simply feel "normal." People who abuse drugs come to a point in seeking and use drugs despite the tremendous problems caused for themselves and their loved ones. Some people start to feel the need to take increasingly stronger and more frequent doses, even in the early stages of their drug use.

Examples Of Risk Factors and Protective
Domain Risk Factors Protective Factors
Early aggressive behavior Individual Self
Individual Poor social skills Positive Relationships
Lack of parental supervision and surveillance Family parental support
Substance abuse Friends academic Sufficiency
Drug availability School Policies against drug use
Community Poverty strong attachment to the neighborhood
Is continued drug abuse a voluntary behavior?

Usually, the initial decision to use drugs is voluntary. However, when it becomes abuse, the individual's ability to exercise self-control becomes extremely poor. Imaging studies of the brain of addicts show physical changes in areas of the brain critical to judgment, decision making, learning, memory and behavior control. Scientists believe that these changes alter the way the brain works and can explain the compulsive and destructive behaviors of addiction.

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDS), once called venereal diseases, are defined as a group of diseases caused by various infectious agents that are acquired through s*xual activity.

The STDs affect women and men of all races and socioeconomic strata. They are most common in adolescents and young adults.

The incidence of STDs is rising, in part because in the last few decades, young people are s*xually active earlier and marrying late. As a result, s*xually active people today are more likely to have multiple s*xual partners during their lives and therefore have higher risk of STDs.

Most of the time, STDs cause no symptoms, particularly in women. However, even if they do not cause symptoms, an infected person can transmit the disease to a s*xual partner.

Health problems caused by STDs tend to be more severe and frequent in women than men, partly because the infection is asymptomatic in women and not seek medical care until they have already developed complications.

When diagnosed and treated early, many STDs can be cured effectively.

There are several risk factors for having an STD and these are:

start a s*xually active during adolescence.
having many s*xual partners.
having a s*xual partner who has many s*xual partners.
not using a condom or condom during s*x.
Some of the major STDs in women are:

HIV

AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) was first reported in the United States in 1981 It is caused by a virus called HIV, or human immunodeficiency virus, a virus that destroys the body's ability to fight infections.

An estimated 900,000 people in the United States are currently infected with HIV.

People with AIDS are susceptible to many dangerous diseases called opportunistic infections and certain forms of cancer. Transmission of the virus occurs during s*xual activity and by sharing needles to inject intravenous drugs.

Chlamydia

This infection is now the most common of all bacterial STDs. Chlamydia can cause an abnormal ge***al discharge and burning with urination.

In women, untreated chlamydia infection can lead to complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease, one of the most common causes of ectopic pregnancy and infertility in women.

In many people, chlamydia causes no symptoms. Once diagnosed, chlamydia infection, the affected person can be cured with antibiotics.

ge***al herpes

Herpes infection is caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV). The main symptoms of a herpes infection are painful blisters in the ge***al area. These can cause an itching sensation or itching in the legs, buttocks, or ge***al region.

Herpes sores usually disappear within 2 or 3 weeks, but the virus remains in the body for life and the lesions may recur over time. Some recurrent or severe cases of ge***al herpes can be treated with antiviral drugs that require a prescription.

These drugs or medications can help control symptoms but not eliminate the herpes virus from your body. Women who acquire ge***al herpes during pregnancy can transmit the virus to their babies. Untreated ge***al herpes infection in babies can result in mental retardation and death.

ge***al Warts

Ge***al warts (also called venereal warts) are caused by HPV or human papilloma virus, a virus related to the virus that causes warts on the skin. Ge***al warts usually appear as hard lumps that do not cause pain in the ge***al area, p***s, or around the a**s. If left untreated, they can grow and develop a cauliflower-like appearance.

In addition, ge***al warts, certain types of HPV can cause cervical cancer and other cervical cancers.

gonorrhea

The major symptoms of gonorrhea are a discharge from the va**na or p***s and painful or difficult urination. The most serious and common complication of gonorrhea usually occur in women. These complications include pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy and infertility.

Once diagnosed gonorrhea can be treated effectively with antibiotics.

syphilis

The first symptoms of syphilis may go undetected because they are very mild and disappear. The first thing that appears is a lesion called a "chancre". This lesion is painless and is like a sore on the p***s or va**na or around the va**na. It can also occur near the mouth, a**s or hands. If syphilis is not treated, it can progress to more advanced stages, including a rash or rash and possibly complications of the heart and central nervous system. Penicillin remains the most effective treatment for syphilis.
