Come Learn Iseelearning provides morning and afternoon classes for high school students and for adults who are continuing education. Courses are currently available for Principles of Business, Principles of Accounts, Mathematics and Office Administration.

The Dominica Youth Business Trust announces its Small Business Assistance Facility which will run from June 16-18 2020.

Applications are invited from young men and women age 18 to 35 who are interested in developing their small businesses. Application forms can be obtained at the Dominica Youth Business Trust Office, 42 Kennedy Avenue, Youth Development Division on High Street and District Youth Development Officers or the DYBT website www.dybt.gov.dm.

The Online Learning Initiative resumes today, April 20, 2020 as Dominica continues to observe a State of Public Health Emergency due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.

Learning will continue through online platforms and activity sheets will be provided.

Instruction will be done mainly via Google Classroom. However, the Ministry encourages use of the DIGICEL Learning Hub, the CXC Learning Hub and the One on One Classroom (Flow Study) to review content for both the primary and secondary school levels. Review past papers are available for the CAPE and CSEC exams. The Ministry has also prepared flash drives with interactive learning material as well as examination past papers for ALL students of Grades 5 and 6. These are available from school principals.

For students with no access to internet or devices, work sheets and activity packages will be prepared. Arrangements will be made at each school for collection of these activity packs.

The Ministry of Education also has in place, support mechanisms for staff, teachers, students and parents who encounter difficulty or need advice.

Our guidance counselors are also on hand to provide psycho- social support to help our students, teachers, staff and parents cope with the impact of COVID-19. Referrals can be made by calling the numbers listed above.

We encourage all stakeholders to exercise patience as we go through this uncertain period together. We thank principals and school staff for their commitment during these trying times and sincerely wish that all stakeholders do all within their power to ensure that students are not significantly disadvantaged during this period.

The Ministry of Education continuously avails itself to principals, staff and parents and commits to exploring all avenues to ensure the continuation of learning for ALL students.
