24. - 28. februar 2020, Ceuti (Murcia, Spain)
The students at the host school surprised us with an original welcome - they danced the traditional dances of all the participating countries, including the polka. The day continues with a working day, followed by a presentation of "homework" and a lecture on a waste-free society. All the days of the project week were very dynamic - they were all changed in different forms of work: lectures by experts, work in language-mixed groups, reporting on the common works of many views in the field. We saw organic wine production in the vineyards and wine cellars of Santa Elena, and on the farms of Casa Pareja, the nice owner introduced us to the organic cultivation of olives and the production of olive oil. In Lorquí, we at Tilamur learned about an interesting form of alternative agriculture, where, according to the principle of aquaponics, they grow vegetables with the help of ribs, producing vegetables as well as fish for food. Near Cartagena, the Parque Minero de La Union, where we went underground and in an abandoned mine, now a museum, learned about the importance of mineral wealth for the development of this part of Spain, the hard work of miners and the negative consequences for human health and nature. . We also focused on the issue of environmentally irresponsible human behavior in the Mar Menor area, where the main culprit for the decommissioning of the bay is intensive agriculture, urbanization and mass tourism.
