The Innovation Camp

Bang & Olufsen is for the 9th time hosting an international Innovational Camp, where more than 260 students have participated, is attracting talented students from Europe, Asia and USA. It has through the years received recognition and awards for its exceptionally innovative approach to development, innovation and teaching. This year it has garnered support from Aalborg University, Region Midtjyll

and, Struer Municipality, The Oticon Fund, and been arranged in collaboration with the consultancy agency BRAINS. The Camp has previously been supported with grants from EU, Oticon Fund, Region Midtjylland and the Ministry of Education. The camp is conducted in a summer school format at the Bang & Olufsen facilities with participation from young talents meticulously recruited from universities and educational institutions from Denmark, Poland, the Netherlands, China and USA. The students work with concept developing, which they in three weeks have to develop into a working prototype. The work takes place in Bang & Olufsen’s development and design facilities with active participation from Bang & Olufsen development engineers.The students wrap up the course by delivering a presentation in front of external VIP guests and Bang & Olufsen management.

This year's edition of The Innovation Camp is coming to an end. Time flies by when you're having fun, and boy oh boy did we have fun! :-)

The students worked extremely hard the past week and therefore had some well deserved fun-time! This Sunday was all about exploring the West Coast for the Innovation Campers. We visited Bovbjerg Fyr, Sandskulpturfestivalspladsen Søndervig & Søndervig Strand. The pictures speak for themselves ⛅

Phew, time passes quickly when you're having fun!

During the 2nd week the students have presented their concepts to Bang & Olufsen management and employees, been enjoying Struer Lydens By, enjoying a traditional Danish dinner at the very hospitable Bang & Olufsen employees' homes, dining at Den Glade Pingvin trying Pindebøf (local signature dish for the Struer area), immersing themselves in their briefs and experiencing their prototypes and potential issues firsthand by sculpting in August Semrau Andersen's backyard, cooking dinner for the Camp at the Struer Boarding School, building a fort of pillows. Tomorrow, Friday, we're heading to Aalborg Universitet to experience their AAU Engineers - Aalborg University's faculty, and after we've got exploration of Aalborg, Denmark.

The students are doing an excellent job (Y) (Y)!

Creativity is flowing!

After a great and refreshing weekend, the students are back in their booths putting their final touches on their concepts for tomorrow, where they will present them to Bang & Olufsen staff and management.
