FIGUERES

Salvador Dalí is one of the most well-known artist who painted surrealism, he was born in Figueres, a little city in North of Catalonia and then he started drawing and became famous.

In his home town currently there is a museum created by himself before die, in there you can see most of his pictures. The museum has lots of diferents rooms and all of them are very different from each other , it has some lively painting or objects like the car which we had seen at the entrance of the museum. All the museum is a "mystery" which means that you have to observe and deduce most of the things that are inside the museum.

Inside the museum there are not signals so it makes this museum very diferent from others. What I think that makes more interesting is the variety between the expose rooms, the pictures and all the sculptures.

Personally what i like the most about the museum are the paintings because I Love art and specially surrealisme and I Love visitin museus that have pictures especially Salvador Dalí.

I would really recommend this museum to people who are interested in surrealisme and students that want to see with their own eyes what they had been studied them for a long time at school.

For me that museum is one of the bests I have ever seen in my live.

Five of us were given the task to describe the differences between Denmark and Catalonia. We have created 4 posts with things in Catalonia which are different from Denmark. The group consists of Bjarke, Sander, Kristoffer, Nikolai and Emil.

In Spain there is an yearly tredition. Which we in Denmark would call: ”grillfest”. In English ”barbeque” and in Spanish ”Calçotada”. As an part of the tredition. There an type of long onions. When you get the long onions you dip them in a speciel romanesque. Where in my situation I helped getting wood for the fire.
The way of eating it. When og get the long onions. There is an blackburned shell that you pull off. Then it leaves at green stilk that you dip in the speciel romanesque. Then take it above your head and eat it, while it’s still is above your head. And take a bite.
In Denmark, we don’t have a tredition where we don’t have something, where we could say it would remind of Calçotada, the barbeque.

In Cambrils, Catalonia, there were public showers near the beach, both full body showers and feet-only showers, which I have never seen in Denmark.

In most of the apartments of Catalonia they use round door k***s with locks inside a little hole of the door k***s instead of the horizontal door k***s we danes are familiar with in Denmark.

Spain:
In Spain you're not allowed to use your phone because it makes noise and that can disturb some people and the students can chat with each other in class

Denmark:
In Denmark you can use your phone in class when you need it, and we can use the dictionary and findtolearn, kahoot in the lessions.

Sunday 12 in Ebre

Some of us went to Delta de l'Ebre. We arrived at 12 am and we did an activity called "pertxar", it's a typical activity there. It consists of rowing in the river like in Venice. We split into some groups for the canoe, and then 3 hours later we went for lunch.

We ate paella, a traditional food of Catalonia and Valencia, we ate two different types. Before the paella we ate some salad with tomatoes, carrots, olives, peppers, pickles, finally we ate ice cream. In the afternoon we took some cars to race and we laughed a lot.

Then we went to another beach to look at the sunset and people doing kitesurfing in the evening, but It was a little windy and then we went to our homes.

Thursday

Townhall:
First we arrived at the townhall of the city. It was decorated with Pictures and paintings of previous mayors of the town. A lady led us into the room. There were pictures, paintings, monuments and of course chairs for the mayor and council to sit on. She explained every monument in the room, at talked about the history of the town hall. Then she led us to another room, where there were pictures and a sword belonging to the mayors before the current one. All the pictures were in black and white.

Gaudi museum:
When we were at the gaudi museum, we had to put all our bags in a room which was then locked. Then we saw a lot of statues and monuments, that represented some of Gaudi’s work. It was mostly smaller versions of buildings and towers and such. Gaudi was an architect after all. We were also given a phone in the beginning, which we then had to use as a guide instead of getting our own personal guide. We then had to watch a movie about how he had gotten his ideas, and how he had brought them into life.

Mall/Shopping center:
When school finished, all of us went to the mall. At first we were going bowling, but we chose to save it for another day, so we could just walk around the mall. We went around i for hours. We ate at fast food places. We also went shopping in some of the stores. The Spanish people played some games at the arcade while the Danish people sat on couches. We were having fun for quite some time. We also went out on the balcony and looked upon the city. The sun was already going down at that time of the day. It wasn’t very late though. Eventually we left with our exchange student to home.

Saturday we went to Cambrils. We met at the beach in the morning. First, we walked on the beach and we searched for a volleyball net to play because Pol had brought a ball. The Danish people swam in the sea because it was so hot for them, but the water was very cold!

The Spanish people sat and talked for a while and then they played beach volley. Pau and Roger went to a shop to buy a frisbee and a pair of kites, and we played with them. After that, we went to McDonald's to have lunch, but we took the food and we went to eat at the beach.

Then we relaxed and played all together beach volley, while a local TV was filming us. In the afternoon, we went walking to Cambrils center and we bought an ice cream. Later Danish people walked around and talked a lot.

In evening, we took some nice photos with the sunset, and then, our parents came to take us home.

10th March Afternoon: Girona

Girona is an important city in Catalonia, the capital of the Gironès county. It's a beautiful city with some historical buildings. We stopped there and a guide led us around the city, showing us some cathedrals and also, a place where Game of Thrones was filmed. The guide told us the legend of the witch of Girona, and the legend of Saint Narcís and the flies. We went to a tower on the high part of the city to see what it is like from that height. We finished the guided visit on Plaça Independència and then we went to an ice-cream shop called Recambolesc, founded by an important pastry master in Catalonia, and we bought some ice cream and chocolate. Then we had some free time and we walked around Girona.
