We want to examine and explore Hawaii - previously a kingdom with a heredity monarchy inhabited by descendants of the Polynesians, which ended in 1893. In 1959, Hawaii became the 50th state in the USA. What was that original culture like and has any of the original culture survived or has everything become Americanized? How have the islands been impacted (politically,

economically, biologically, socially, environmentally) and is it a change for the better or worse? What does it mean to become Americanized? Denmark has never been a part of the USA, but is it becoming Americanized? Is that a good or bad thing?
