The last day in Copenhagen - also marking the end of the AFS 4-week programme, began with a visit to the UN City, where we learned more about the many different organisations under the UN and the work they do. Students were engaged in a few different activities. Last but not least - and to some extent also mandatory - we finished the afternoon with a visit to the Little Mermaid and experienced Copenhagen from the water 😍

After a day of travelling yesterday, we have circled back to Denmark and will be spending the last few days in Copenhagen. Today was a full programme exploring the inner city - and took us from an art exhibition by young talents (age 14-18) at the city hall to a walk through some of the historical monuments and sights🤩

Our new friends from Paneuropska Zladna Skola showing us their beautiful city, so we could learn more about their cultural heritage 🤩🫶

Our first full day in Bratislava, Slovakia, started with a visit to our new friendship school Paneuropska Zakladna Skola, where we spent the day together with their students. Both schools had prepared presentations and various activities were played to get to know each other a bit more. We had lunch in the school canteen and got to experience what a school day here looks like. Tomorrow, we will meet with our new friends for a day in the historic Bratislava 🤗

As a contrast to yesterday's focus on youth engagement in Vienna - today took us back to the great Austrian Empire, where we learned more about the Hapsburg family and how much of their influence can still be seen in and around Vienna🤩

The voice of the youth - can the youth have an influence on political decision making? At WienExtra and in the city of Vienna, they believe that engaging young people from down to the age of 5 is a crucial step in shaping responsible, engaged and political active citizens. Very inspiring to see the many different initiatives that were once the ideas of a child or young person💪👍

Day 2 - a mix of old and new, outside and inside, colourful and neutral. Lots of km walking again - but at least in fantastic Spring weather🌞😎

First day in Berlin was a long walk through history - learning much about the division of both Berlin, but also Europe after WW2.

Dear Reader - The Europe Roadtrip group anno 2025 has finally arrived to their first destination Berlin. Having spent most of the day in many different trains, it was just a quick dinner before jumping into bed for a good nights rest, so we are ready for the programme tomorrow
