I think this trip was really eye opening and wonderful cultural experience. The high trek was absolutely amazing. Being able to trek 4000 m up in the mountains, through all kinds of landscapes and climates, and experiencing the Nepalese culture, created memories that will last a lifetime. There is almost nothing more rewarding than working hard for days, carrying all your things, body aching and then reaching the top of a ridge and standing there looking over the clouds. Just you and the mountains. I can’t even describe the feeling standing there and watching as the sun hits of the tip of the mountains early in the morning. We were insanely lucky with the weather, and the company. It is so cosy after a whole day of hard trekking, being able to sit in front of a fireplace, warming your feet, drinking tea, and exchanging stories all evening. Experiencing Kathmandu was also an adventure for itself. It was such a huge contrast from the peaceful mountains. Here there was always something happening. The lights were blinking, music was playing, the smell of amazing chilli momos being cooked, and so much more. Walking down the slums of Thamel also really puts your life into perspective. Seeing how little these people had and how horrible the life quality was, was a huge eye opener. I think it was beautiful to see how simple life was for these people, and still how happy they were; Truly inspiring. Nepal is a wonderful country, with the kindest people, a diverse culture, and fantastic nature. I am so thankful I was able to experience it with my fellow high trek members.

Nepal
I went to nepal, with the school, to do trekking, it was breath taking, and the best adventure of my life. I saw views which i truly thought was the only type of views you viewed through the internet, and looking around me, at the top of Kopra Ridge, truly was surreal- and mind blowing. The people of Nepal, were kinder than ever, and all the teachers were so helpful and supportive, and lead us through the coolest experience ever. I’m so glad i went, and so proud. A lot of lessons were learnt, and it’s inexpressible, you would have to see it to believe it.

Nepal kultur-turen med Ranum Efterskole var mega fed!
Kathmandu og Pokhara var fulde af farverige gader, imponerende templer og en helt anderledes atmosfære.
Undervejs på rejsen boede vi hos en værtsfamilie, på det besøg oplevede jeg virkelig, hvor forskelligt det nepalesiske liv er fra det danske.
På rejsen fik jeg de bedste minder med de mest fantastiske rejsemakkere, jeg kunne ønske mig.

The Nepal culture trip with Ranum Efterskole was great.
Kathmandu and Pokhara were full of colorful streets, impressive temples and a completely different atmosphere.
During the journey we stayed with a host family, on that visit I really experienced how different Nepalese life is from Danish life.
On the trip, I made the best memories with the most amazing travel companions I could wish for.

Min Nepal tur var fyldt med udfordringer. Jeg lærte mig selv bedre at kende og fandt mine grænser. Jeg så nogle af de pæneste bjerge i verden og mødte de venligste mennesker i verden. Min tur til Nepal var fyldt med gode oplevelser.

My Nepal trip was full of challenges. I got to know myself better and found my limits. I saw some of the most beautiful mountains in the world and met the kindest people in the world. My trip to Nepal was full of good experiences.

I min mening har denne tur været fantastisk! Da vi både har haft en lille smagsprøve på at skulle vandre op og ned af bjerge, og været helt tæt inde på kulturen. Vi har været udsat for mange kulturchok som har været helt øjenåbne, hvor vi har oplevet fattige mennesker helt ind på kroppen, og set hvordan deres hverdag ser ud. Og med alt det, har vi samtidig også været ude og fyldt rollen som turister, når det er sagt syntes jeg balancen i turen har været virkligt god, og noget man ikke kan opleve hvis man bare tager afsted med familien eller venner.

Der er allerede snak om en genforening i Nepal om 4-5 års tid, så jeg vil sige: stor succes.

In my opinion, this trip has been amazing! As we have both had a small taste of having to hike up and down mountains, and been very close to the culture. We have been exposed to many culture shocks which have been completely eye-opening, where we have experienced poor people firsthand, and seen what their everyday life looks like. And with all that, we have also been out and filled the role of tourists, when that has been said I thought the balance of the trip was really good, and something you can’t experience if you just go with family or friends.

There is already talk of a reunion in Nepal in 4-5 years’ time, so I would say: great success.
