We have arrived back in Denmark - those of you waiting for Josefine and Alexandra might have seen us sprinting for the train… we had 4 mins to reach the IC train from picking up luggage… and we made it!!!
We are now on our way to Jutland, and the Ranum bus is picking us up in Skanderborg about 23.40 ish ETA Ranum 01.30-02.00

Our flight from Izmir to Istanbul is delayed by approx 2 hours which means that we can’t make our flight from Istanbul to Copenhagen at 12.35
We are instead on a flight 17.30 (flight no PC1075arriving at Copenhagen 19.50 -
Boarding now - pls pass it on

Last day with our friendship school, last day in Izmir, last day in Türkiye- Thank you to the student from Izmir American College and their amazing teachers for the program they made for us, their hospitality and for welcoming us into their lives and homes.
And thank you to Ranum students for your openness and participation and the memorable time we all had together…

One night to go before we embark on our journeys home tomorrow.
Oh and welcome to Kaeden’s mother Christine who turned up to surprise Kaeden to es**rt him and Tobias home to Cyprus tomorrow.

Torsdag bød på en fantastisk dagstur til Ephesus UNESCO Heritage Site med vores tyrkiske venner fra vores venskabsskole😍

Vejret har været helt i top, vores guide var utrolig sød (tålmodig) og meget klog på alt hvad vi har oplevet i dag!

Ved Ephesus har de et flot nyåbnet museum med lydeffekter og video. Det giver fornemmelsen af at man var i Ephesus by under dets storhedstid😄

Alle elever er nu tilbage efter deres første nat hos værtsfamilierne 😊

Oplevelserne har indtil videre været rigtig gode, og det virker til, at både de danske og tyrkiske elever har fået meget ud af de mange spændende kultursamtaler 🌍🌏🌎

I dag er vi på dagstur til den historiske by Ephesus, som er en del af UNESCOs Verdensarv 😄 Vi ser frem til en dag fyldt med kulturelle oplevelser og hyggeligt samvær på tværs af landegrænser.

Diary by Ana Sofia 😊

We woke up at 4 AM and took a bus to the airport for our flight from Istanbul to Izmir. Upon arrival, we went straight to the school, where we spent time with the turkish students. They gave us a tour of their school and shared what they typically eat.

We also made a presentation about Denmark and our school. In the evening, we came together with the turkish students to prepare traditional Turkish dishes. To finish the day, we visited their homes. It was a truly beautiful experience, and we loved connecting with the local community.

(Tirsdag d. 7. oktober) Istanbul skrevet af Natalia og Julie B😊

I dag besøgte vi Hagia Sofia og Den Blå Moské, som begge var virkelig flotte og imponerende. Efter frokost gik vi rundt i Grand Bazaar, hvor der var masser af farver, dufte og liv. Det var en spændende dag, og vi sluttede af med fælles middag og hygge - og shopping i Istanbuls gader😇

Fact of the day: Den blå moské er stor nok til at rumme 10.000 bedende om dagen😳

I morgen skal vi mega tidligt op med en bus til lufthavnen, hvor vi flyver videre til Izmir. Til aften har søde Anna pakket gaveposer til alle vores hostfamilies i Izmir. I posen er blandt andet en dåse Danish Butter Cookies med facts omkring dansk hygge🎁

First day in Istanbul written by Tobias and Kaeden😄

We started the morning by waking up later than we expected (one hour to be precise). But it ended up alright when we had an assortment of different options like hard-boiled eggs and feta cheese. We ended up going to the Basilica Cistern, a water reservoir that existed in ancient times to provide water to the cities above. Like the cities above, this Cistern was filled with gorgeous pillars with engravings of an ancient language most likely to be Ancient Greek. The rest of the day was followed with a long and nice boat ride where there was not only a serene view but also a nice auditory tour🤩
