PhD scholarship in Water Thermodynamics using the Two-State Theory
We seek a talented and motivated PhD student who is willing to be part of a world-leading research environment and contribute to the development of novel thermodynamic models for water and aqueous solutions. The PhD position is planned to start from June 1, 2025 or as soon as possible after that, and the duration of the position is three years. The appointment will be at the Center for Energy Resources Engineering (CERE), Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
CERE is a leading research center in the areas of applied thermodynamics and energy as well as Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).

Water is an extraordinary liquid with many thermodynamic properties which can be considered anomalous. This project aims to investigate whether a new theory, the so-called two-state concept, can result in improved description of water thermodynamics including electrolytes.

A new course on molecular simulation aimed for students and professionals from industry will take place 3-21 March 2025. The course will be taught by Professor Ioannis Economou (Texas A&M at Qatar) during his sabbatical year at DTU.
