Spot the missing colour.

It's black obviously. Except it isn't missing, because we don't actually make a black eye liner. You see, black can be ageing, it has the knack of picking out and highlighting those fine lines and dark circles, as well as looking heavy on the eyes.

So instead, we have developed eight far more flattering shades. But don't worry, they're not a throwback to the 80s. We think you’ll be surprised how subtle a coloured eye liner is. Certainly our clients are bowled over when they try them.

Hvis du er i tvivl om hvilken grøn farve der er flottest til dig, så få en farvetest hos Colour Me Beautiful. Vi er et par stykker her i Vestjylland.

We‘re all familiar with depth (how light or deep a colour is) and undertone (how warm or cool a colour is), but there is a third characteristic; clarity. Clarity measures how vibrant a colour is.

Some shades reflect the light, others absorb it. This is particularly true when looking at fabric. Satin reflects, so the colour will look much more intense. Wool absorbs light, so will take on a softer look.

We use these rules when looking at our own characteristics. Someone with bright eyes (being their most striking feature) and dark hair has a very contrasting look, so to balance it, we suggest wearing bright, vivid colours. Watch those eyes pop!

Someone with muted eye colour that has very little contrast between eyes, skin and hair, has a much more blended look. Consequently they will look fantastic in softer colours worn tonally. Very chic!

Did you know that the Colour Me Beautiful system is based on science? We use the Munsell System which breaks down colour into three characteristics:

The Value (Depth): how light or deep a shade is
The Hue (Undertone): how warm or cool a shade is
The Chroma (Clarity): how clear or soft a shade is

Those of you who have had your colours assessed by us will already be familiar with the terms Light, Deep, Warm, Cool, Clear and Soft, and how they relate to your own unique colouring. That is because the beauty of this system not only describes a colour, but it also describes a person's colouring. So we use the same system to assess you and the best shades to wear.

It is also much more flexible than the seasonal approach, which means that your palette is made up of 42 amazing colours that will look fabulous on you.

Hvilken nuance af blå klæder dig?

Officially there are 57 shades of blue. In reality there are so many more. And it’s the most popular colour to wear, so obviously you will always find it every season. But do you know your best shades? We do!

Of course there are other shades that you might not automatically think are blue, such as purple and aqua but they are blue-based.

Softs are one of our less strong palettes. With their dark blonde/light brown hair (often highlighted) and muted eyes, there is very little contrast.

So, in order to complement their look, we give them soft, beautiful shades that can be combined tonally. But don’t be mistaken in thinking that the Soft colour palette is void of colour. It isn’t. You will still find reds, greens, blues, even black (but not as you know it….charcoal grey is a Soft’s black).

It’s a classy palette and when worn correctly, looks simply amazing!
