Because we were fortunate that Sōke taught nine ryūha, the richness of each ryūha got stronger. Normally in the old days practitioners would only practice one or few ryūha. So, in other words because sōke taught us nine lineages and to see the connection between them the alchemy of the Bujinkan broth makes all the ryūha more strong individually because they all became more rich by each other.

A conversation with Nagato-sensei earlier this year.

"I’m teaching naturalness. Move naturally. Move like a big wave that takes dust and even human beings with it. Hanno Bon Itsu no kamae (反応汎溢之構) from Gyokko Ryū (玉虎流) that we studied last year. Shinden Fudō Ryū is all about nature but there are no kamae in Shinden Fudō Ryū."
"Happō means not only 8 directions, but all directions, also up and down. You should not try to understand this intellectually. This is impossible. Try to get a feeling for it."
"Even if you have the denshō it is nothing worth without the continuous training with Sōke. It’s the natural feeling."

Did you know that In a survey by the US Department of Defense, 3,000 students of Bujinkan survived what was classified as dangerous missions. This was verified when Pentagon wanted to find out if there were some charteristics on soldiers that survived dangerous missions. They found out that one important characteristic for people that survived was that they were Bujinkan students.

This heart of life and survival was given to us by our soke. Let's stick together and keep it alive forever.

The spirit of original martial arts has survived through our ryu-ha of Bujinkan up to this present day transmitted by our Bujinkan soke. It's not about strong or weak. And it's not about looks or optimal preparation for the fight at a specific date, because this date is only for sports. According to our legacy this path is more about spirit, awareness, friendship and the correct heart.

共同体 [きょうどうたい] was one of the six treasures transmittet to us by our bujinkan soke in spring 2017.
This is about the importance of building and maintaining relationships and coorporative, harmonious, communities.

Soke finished by saying that we must teach our students all 6 of these treasures each and every day and build communities of true Budoka in the Bujinkan.

The picture is reflecting exactly this where around 650 buyu from around the world suddenly were able to gather during the COVID-crisis for the Nagato Tai Kai in Germany, hosted by Marc Jahan and his team.

Let's do our best to continue this important transmission.
