One night, many destinations.

Last week, our Secondary students swapped their usual school routines for social overnights across Denmark, with each grade heading somewhere different.

There was time to explore new surroundings, share meals, hang out and get to know one another a little better beyond the classroom. One night away, plenty of memories and stories to bring home, and perhaps a little less sleep than usual! 💙

A short while ago, our graduates marked the end of school with a jump into Copenhagen’s harbour. This week marks another milestone, with the release of the IB Diploma Programme results. Congratulations to our Class of 2026.

Completing the IB Diploma takes determination, curiosity and a great deal of hard work, and today is an opportunity to recognise everything this year’s graduates have achieved.

At CIS, we offer a non-selective IB Diploma Programme, welcoming students with a wide range of strengths, interests and learning needs. This year, 24 graduates completed the programme with inclusive access arrangements, demonstrating that high expectations and inclusive practice can go hand in hand.

🌈 What a year it’s been!

From the excitement of Studenterkørsel and the creativity of Fastelavn, to International Fest, assemblies, performances, art exhibitions, learning adventures, and all the moments in between, this year has been full of memories we’ll carry with us for a long time.

There were big milestones, proud achievements, new friendships, plenty of laughter, and countless everyday moments that make CIS what it is. The conversations in the corridors, the buzz before an event, the excitement of trying something new, it’s those little moments, just as much as the big ones, that make a school year special.

And then, as if the year was giving us one final send-off, a rainbow appeared over our campus in Nordhavn. Looking back, it felt like a fitting reminder of our community. So many different people, backgrounds, talents, and stories, all coming together to create something vibrant and unique.

Thank you to our students, families, and staff for everything you’ve brought to CIS this year.

Today we waved goodbye to our graduates as they set off on the final celebration of their graduation journey. 🎓🚚

If you’ve never seen this before, you’re probably wondering what’s going on! The student truck ride (studenterkørsel) is a classic Danish graduation tradition. After finishing their exams, graduates spend the day driving around in decorated trucks, stopping at each other’s homes to celebrate with family and friends. It’s loud, joyful, and one of the most memorable days of the Danish high school graduation experience.

Our 8th grade language trips were packed with unforgettable experiences and cultural discoveries! 🌍

Students on the German trip immersed themselves in Bavarian culture through a cooking workshop, a visit to the Allianz Arena and BMW World, a trip to the stunning Neuschwanstein Castle, a Jugger session with a local youth team, and even the creation of their own German-language radio show.

Meanwhile, students in France explored Nice, Antibes, Biot, and Saint-Paul-de-Vence, discovered local culinary traditions, designed their own perfumes in Grasse, completed treasure hunts and language challenges, perfected their pétanque skills, and learned the Paralympic sport Torball.

A huge thank you to all the dedicated and enthusiastic teachers who accompanied and supported our 8th graders throughout these amazing trips! ✨🇩🇪🇫🇷

🎓 What a day to remember!

Last Friday, we celebrated the remarkable Class of 2026 as they crossed the stage and marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

Thank you to our graduates for inspiring us with your resilience, curiosity and ambition. Thank you to our parents and families for the unwavering support, encouragement and love that helped make this moment possible.

We are grateful to our student speakers for sharing their reflections and stories, and to our guest speaker, Victor Saeijs, President of LEGO Education, for his inspiring words. Thank you also to Kate Harris, Chair of the CIS Board, our Board members, faculty and staff, distinguished guests, and the many parents and family members who joined us to share this special moment and celebrate the achievements of our graduates.

As our graduates leave CIS and step into the world beyond, they carry with them the values, friendships and experiences that have shaped their journey.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. We are incredibly proud of you and cannot wait to see where your next chapter takes you. 💙
