Biologigaragen was the first biohacker/DIY-biospace in Denmark started in 2010. Over the past decade we have built up the community bio scene in Denmark and our members have go on to start space within and outside the country.
However, as of March 2019, The core members of Biologigaragen have chosen to stop and move on to other projects. This means that Biologigaragen is no longer an official association or physical space.
The legacy and good work done by our members over the past many years will live on in the form of a passive online network in our facebook group and on mail-lists. Do go there and join the conversation. As well all our materials, and our online infrastructure is available if you have the energy to get things moving again. Many different groups are now running community biology networks or labs that offer physical space and access to equipment. Kind regards

Making natural science fun since 2010

We are super grateful for the collaborations we have with the community - we now have several fermenters from carlsberg! - which are perfect for our beer brewing community! - join us and see what all the fuss is about :)
Wow amazing volunteer meeting again last night.
We now have 26 active volunteers in our community co-creating and making science awesome for all!
if you want to know more check out our website at
www.biologigaragen.org
You'll find equipment, workshop's and more right there!

Tonight we have our biomaterials community group's first meeting.
One great biomaterial to play with is Mycellium the root network of mushrooms. Our friends in Gent we're kind enough to let us bring home some Mycellium from the fridge stack they have!
We start at 18:00 and this community group is free to access for our members, you can join Biologigaragen from as little as 100kr a month!!!

We're fast approaching and to celebrate we're running this fun, hands-on workshop teaching permaculture tips and tricks, as well as helping us to fulfill the biophilic tendencies we have!
Deep dive into the foraged, forest fresh moss, that acts as your base and then add plants, sand, stones, and even little figurines to make your world complete before you seal it shut! (we will provide everything, and all materials are 100% upcycled or from our partners making it zero waste)
It's all part of our maker march events promoting , right here at Biologigaragen
Be aware we have limited seats and the event is in English so join us and get a little greener!
The event page will go live soon!

Want to learn more about mushrooms, fungi and all the wonders of biomaterials
Join our biomaterials group - check the events section to find the next meetup date!
Here's a wild specimen of a polypore!

Tomorrow we have our members Friday bar happening. Come and network with some of the community, whilst also engaging in your uptake of fermented liquid.
Did you miss our info evening, not to worry if you want to still volunteer with us then contact us at

Interesting talk coming up for those open to ideas of biomass and green energy
Biotechnology and cascade solutions
- the key to a climate-neutral future
YES invites to a debate meeting on the future of cascade and cluster solutions, where units are connected together and synergies are exploited. It is the implementation of the circular mindset, where what was previously waste or discharge from a process, now becomes the resource of another. You may know it from biorefining of grass and biogas from slurry and sludge, but there are many more good examples on the way.
We will look at specific cases where knowledge about agricultural systems is combined with biotechnological solutions, so that biomass is refined and value chains are expanded. The mindset indicates the way for an environmental and climate-neutral business that can produce food, high-value products, medicine, energy and fibers.
The chairman of the event is Asbjørn Børsting chairing the government's bioeconomy panel.
Plaintiffs:
- Mette Lübeck associate professor at Aalborg University in Sydhavnen, who will tell about biorefining of grass. Including the project INNOGRASS
- Jesper Mazanti Aaslyng center manager at the Technological Institute, who will tell about the ReMAPP project, where algae production is combined with biogas
- Greenlab slice an "energy cluster", as a new groundbreaking business case with synergy between business and society The
event takes place at Aalborg University, Conference Hall 1.001, Byg A, in Copenhagen (!) In Sydhavnen with subsequent sandwiches and water. Biotechnology and cascade solutions
