"My passion for teaching Danish as a second language began when I lived in London in a multicultural environment. I experienced first-hand how important language is for feeling integrated and at home in a new country.

Learning Danish can be challenging because of its sounds, little words, and unwritten rules. It requires practice, patience, and guidance. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where you can practice, make mistakes, and build your confidence when using Danish.

I enjoy working with authentic texts, everyday situations, and cultural references to keep the language relevant to your life in Denmark. My goal is not only for you to understand Danish, but also for you to use it confidently in your everyday life, at work and socially.

I hold a master’s degree in Danish from the University of Copenhagen and have worked as a Danish teacher at various international schools, teaching both Danish language and literature and Danish as a second language.

I am happy to be part of Kartoffeldansk and look forward to supporting you on your journey with Danish."

Important update from Kartoffeldansk!
As you may have heard, there are new VAT regulations from the 1st of January, 2026. This means that private individuals will have VAT added to their course prices.
However, we have chosen to take a solidarity-based approach and share the increased cost equally. Instead of the full 25% VAT increase, the prices go up 12.5% You can check the updated prices here: https://kartoffeldansk.dk/prices/prices-from-jan-2026/when-you-pay-yourself-1/

Exceptions:
• If you’re under 30 and paying privately → No price increase!
Just send a photo of your ID to [email protected] (hide the last 4 CPR digits).
• If your employer pays → No changes for you either!

For the rest of the year, we offer a 5% discount on all course packages bought this year. Just send us an e-mail by December 29th, and we’ll send an invoice with the current pricing and 5% off before New Year.
We also offer an installment plan, with 2 installments for fewer than 21 classes and 3 for 21+ classes with due date in the beginning of January, February and March. Just let us know that you’d like to pay in installments when writing us.

Did you know…?
A lot of our students have the cost of classes covered by their workplaces, and the can usually deduct tax and VAT. If that’s not an option, you may still be able to use the “bruttolønsordning”, where your Danish classes are deducted before tax and thus saving you money. "I have a master’s degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Copenhagen and have worked with language in many forms, from teaching and tutoring to literary translation. What I enjoy most about teaching is the ongoing conversation that develops with my students: discovering how they learn, what motivates them, and watching their confidence grow over time.

Learning a new language can be both exciting and uncomfortable. Suddenly, you can’t quite express your humor or personality the way you want to. I know that feeling well, and as a teacher, I try to create a relaxed atmosphere where it’s okay to experiment, make mistakes, and have fun. I love exploring the subtleties and quirks of Danish and helping students make the language their own. My goal is to help each student reach a point where they feel comfortable speaking Danish in their everyday life. I look forward to teaching you!"
