The yearly Team Peru Talent Show is on Friday, February 23 at 16:00-18:00 in the Theater on campus.
Our school's most brave and talented students have volunteered to showcase their awesome and diverse skills just for you.

Buy your tickets at the entrance - only 50kr incl. snacks at intermission.

The funds raised will be donated to Mama Cocha Children’s Center which helps disabled and impoverished children in Peru.
By attending this event not only will you get to experience an amazing show, you will also be helping children in need.

Due to the global pandemic COVID-19, Peru has been under very strict lockdown (including curfew) since March 16, 2020 and Mama Cocha Centre has been temporarily closed.
Our focus is currently on supporting the children in the area with essential food and hygiene products to help them cope.

All money raised will go directly to these efforts.

THANK YOU all for coming out and supporting Team Peru at the orienteering event on Sunday.
62 of you turned up plus 7 dogs of which one was definitely going to sleep all afternoon!
Some raced round whilst others took it easy and strolled round the course.
The winner of the race was the Johansen family and they completed the course in 37 mins!! - Lagkagehuset voucher will be given out!
Joint 2nd and 3rd place to the Clavert and Zaske families with 50 minutes total.
The 3000 kr. raised will go to support the children of teh Mama Cocha Children's Center in Peru, so thank you.
All agreed, although it was a little muddy in places, it was a fun way to get out in the fresh air and abide by the COVID regulations.

LATEST UPDATE ON MAMA COCHA'S EFFORTS IN PERU
The centre has had 2 new children join the therapy sessions; one baby with Down Syndrome and another child with flat feet. Altogether, they're now working with 18 families who they support through virtual therapy and soon, through face-to-face visits. Thanks, in part, to Team Peru's fundraising efforts, they've been able to buy the protective equipment needed such as gloves, medical masks, thermometers and sanitisers. This makes the work much easier and means that the team in Peru can safely work with the children.

MEET SOFIA
Sofia is a 6-year-old girl with Cerebral Paralysis with a strong will to be able to perform every day activities such as sitting, eating and walking.

She lives with her mother and her older brother who help to care for her. They are not able to afford outside help so we’re so glad that we are able to support them!

At each appointment, Sofia receives a massage on her arms and legs. They work to help her stand up in a straight position as she is mostly only able to stay in a 90 degree angle.

Sofia also receives speech therapy to improve her speaking as well as her chewing and eating abilities.

Since the lockdown in Peru, the families that Mama Cocha helps have been struggling more than ever, their lockdown has completely affected how they function in their day to day lives. No longer can they work like they used to, a curfew of 4 pm to 8 am is in place limiting the hours they can work and be out of their homes. No Work, No Money, No Food.

A LIFEBOX contains the bare necessities that a Mama Cocha family needs to survive on a day to day basis. Delivered to the families by the Mama Cocha team they contain items such as clean drinking water, rice and other dry foods, medicines and if they are lucky some fish!

10 dkk might not seem a lot to us, but it can make a world of a difference for a Mama Cocha family today.

TeamPeru champions have been busy this week - as always - this time collaborating with the PTA, helping prepare for Halloween festivities.

Recent Updates from Mama Cocha - the project that Team Peru sponsors:

Kiya is pleased to announce that Mama Cocha has launched a whole new aspect of it's therapy programme - Equine Therapy!

Our Mama Cocha manager Hedu and the team are thrilled to have begun such a wonderful new element of the therapy services on offer to the children of Mama Cocha. Known as servants of mankind, horses have a peaceful, serene quality to them, which gives them a well-earned reputation for healing, particularly for children with disabilities.

Hedu reports that it is a beautiful location and that the children are loving these new sessions! Well done Mama Cocha team for such amazing progress at the new Centre this year!
