EK Makerlab

EK Makerlab The KEA Makerlab and the KEA Store can be found across from the reception at KEA Guldbergsgade 29N. Access to the workshop is granted via a booking system.

KEA Makerlab is available to enrolled KEA students, lecturers or researches. The mandatory Intro course is REQUIRED if you want to use the workshop. We require that you ask for instruction from a workshop assistant the first time you use a specific machine or tool. Due to practical and safety concerns, the maximum capacity of the workshop is limited to 35 users. Use of the workshop is at your own

risk and therefore we strongly recommend that all students have coverage with their own insurance policy. The classical safety requirements should be followed; Long hair must be tied back, and loose hanging clothes and jewelry are not allowed in the machine room. We require that students have safety shoes, safety glasses, and earphones when using the wood working machines. Loan of hand tools is handled by the workshop assistants. Tools may not be taken out of the workshop without permission from a workshop assistant. All work should be finished 15 minutes before closing time. Users should leave their tools and completely clean work tables before leaving. All models and materials can only be stored in the workshop during a course. Afterwards, all materials will be thrown out. Food is not allowed in the working area. Neither food nor drink is allowed in the machine room. All work processes with involve assembling or cutting of lasercut models should preferably be in the workshop’s workroom and not in the machine room. You should ALWAYS clean up after yourself. Use the workshops trash containers for trash.
