Thank you for a great 3rd meeting in the Nordic Forum in Copenhagen. We are now halfway into the Nordic Lighthouse Project and it is time to focus on solutions for the identified common Nordic challenges with regard to the use, communication and sharing of best practice and research based knowledge by Nordic practitioners working within pre-school, primary and lower secondary education.

Dialogic reading - It’s easy to get started.
A fun and impressive method to teach children language. They learn new words, they get a better receptive language ability, they train their memory and they feel like using the language.

In this video you can see how the day nursery Samuelsgården in Nørrebro uses dialogic reading.

As discussed by the members of the Nordic Forum on our meeting in Oslo in June we are now testing, how effective video is for communicating educational research knowledge to practitioners, and how we can use NSM for sharing such knowledge.

The members off the Nordic Forum are more than welcome to share the videos on their own websites and their NSM-channels.

Please give us feedback on the videos and your views on how to communicate research and if it would make sense to translate/subtitle these videos to the other Scandinavian languages.

These videos and the research behind have been made in a collaboration between practitioners and teachers.

In addition to the Lighthouse Projects FB and YouTube-channel, the videos are located on the ministries learning portal (http://www.emu.dk/modul/skrivedidaktik-p%C3%A5-mellemtrinnet-i-alle-fag as well as the EMU FB-site https://www.facebook.com/emu.dk/.

In the following months more videos will be uploaded.

Your gateway to new research — NB-ECEC 28/04/2016

In the Nordic Lighthouse Project, we are interested in ways to share research across the Nordic region and making it accesible for educational practitioners.

As a collaboration between EVA in Denmark, Skolverket in Sweden, and Utdanningsdirektoratet in Norway, the Nordic Base of Early Childhood Education and Care (NB-ECEC) is a great example of how we can share research across the Nordic countries. Therefore, we have invited Persille Schwartz, chief consultant in EVA, to the next meeting in the Nordic Forum to present EVA's experiences with creating and maintaining the NB-ECEC database as inspiration for the Forum's continued work.

We look forward to discussing the potentials and barriers for sharing research across the Nordic region. In the meantime, check out the database for Early Childhood Education and Care to learn more about some of the most recent international and Nordic research-projects in the field.
