This paper, led by Aprajita H. from DARK in collaboration with a team of international scientists, offers an unprecedented window into the multiwavelength properties of a Tidal Disruption Event, ASASSN-15oi, during its first 8 years of evolution. Recent studies have unveiled that delayed radio flares in TDEs are a common phenomenon, and ASASSN-15oi was the first one to show two distinct radio flares at ~ 6 months and ~4 years post-discovery. With only a ~100 TDEs discovered to date, and even fewer with detections across the electromagnetic spectrum, they present an extensive dataset including radio, optical, UV and X-ray observations. The late-time evolution of ASASSN-15oi challenges the existing models, highlighting the need for long-term monitoring and more sophisticated models to understand the late stages of TDEs.

In this paper, Sarah Pearson from DARK forecasts the population of missing stellar streams in Milky Way-type galaxies. She finds that we've detected less than 10% of all streams in the Milky Way thus far, and that LSST can find the remaining streams. Particularly the predicted population of missing streams far from the galactic center, which are all from from accreted globular clusters, can be useful in the quest for interactions between stellar streams and dark matter subhalos.

In this paper, Cecilia Bacchini from DARK introduces a new method (Q3D < 1) for studying instability in galaxy gas discs. The findings show that while this instability is significant for star formation and turbulence in distant, early galaxies, it has less impact on present-day galaxies, suggesting that other factors are also important.

Today, guest researcher Steven Thorp from Stockholm University delivered a presentation at DARK titled "Pop-cosmos: Comprehensive Forward Modeling of Photometric Galaxy Survey Data."
A novel pop-cosmos framework connects photometry to galaxy evolution, modeling various galaxy properties through simulation-based inference, facilitating accurate redshift estimations and insights into galaxy physics for upcoming photometric surveys.

Have a look at this paper, which showcases two Type Ia supernovae in a single galaxy, representing the furthest observation of such an occurrence. This discovery holds significant implications for accurately measuring the Hubble Constant and advancing time-delay cosmography.

Christa Gall, along with Jens Hjorth and Aleksandra Leśniewska of DARK, contributed to this study about cold interstellar medium (ISM) removal from early-type galaxies. It was noticed that both dust and gas components are removed from these galaxies at similar rates.
This indicates that type Ia supernova outflows, ionization by evolved low-mass stars, or active galactic nuclei are mechanisms contributing to the loss of ISM.
