Food by Gauchas

In Argentina, we don’t usually play with poker cards ♣️ Instead, we use the Spanish deck (cartas españolas). It has 40 cards divided into 4 suits: swords, clubs, cups, and coins.

One of the most iconic games is Truco 🇦🇷 a mix of strategy, bluffing, and a lot of shouting with friends and family. The 1 de espadas is the most powerful card in the game, and everyone wants it in their hand.

From the kitchens of our abuelas to the streets filled with celebrations, empanadas have always brought people together. At Gauchas, we’re proud to carry that tradition with us here in Copenhagen 💙

They’re called sifones de soda 💦 and they work like an old-school soda stream: you press the spout and sparkling water comes out!

Decades ago, soda men would deliver them to houses every week, swapping empty bottles for full ones. Now there is a disposable version.
But they remain a staple on every family table: mixed with wine 🍷, juice🧃or simply enjoyed on their own.

For many of us, they’re a symbol of home and childhood nostalgia 💙

🇦🇷 At Gauchas we don’t just bring empanadas to Copenhagen; we also bring a little bit of Argentinian culture.

For example: “Che boludo” 👉 one of the most common expressions in Argentina. It can mean “hey, dude,” “come on, man,” or sometimes even “you fool”. It all depends on the tone (and the face you make while saying it 😅).
