Be ready to travel in rest!
Today is World Mental Health day 🌱 Does peoples capacity to rest influence mental health? Or the other way around? What would society look like if everyone had more access to resting?
A big shout out and a lot of love to all whom are coping with a challenging mental health. I know we are warriors!🙏🏽 May we experience peace, lightness, and rest. Unapologetically.✨
And a big thanks to all those who support people in times of crisis. Your presence has saved lives. 💛 Keep checking in with people, and when needed just listen. Just hear someone out. As humans we have the need to be heard and feel seen, also in our pain. Someone acknowledging our experience can sometime already lighten a heavy heart.
How do you rest with a mental health that is challenging?
For me, one thing is seeing a natural landscape. Visually seeing an open space that allows me to create more air and space mentally. 🌿 If you ask me for a walk in nature. You can be pretty sure that I'd like to go with you.

Next up is a sound sculpture concert by Barbara Amalie Skovmand Thomsen. 💫For the concert during Kulturnatten 2022, Barbara Skovmand is collaborating with VibroAcoustics , which amplifies the bodily experience of the sound's vibrations through, among other things, special bass modules on which you can sit or lie.
Barbara Skovmand plays on her sound sculpture, an acoustic synthesizer that builds on the legacy of the two French Baschet brothers.
Sound is created by rubbing glass rods with water-wet fingers. The vibrations are directed at a large screen of mirror-polished stainless steel plate, which amplifies and distorts the sound, making it appear almost otherworldly alien, similar to the sci-fi appearance of the sculpture. The sound sculpture was built in collaboration with Rafael Fernández and consultant Martí Ruiz.
Barbara Skovmand graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2009 and the Sandberg Institute in 2011, both in Amsterdam.
produce high quality vibroacoustic hardware technology, HiFi ambient sound journeys and guided content as a form of therapy - allowing minds and bodies to rest naturally.
About their mission:
"We are dedicated to producing HiFi vibroacoustic hardware technology, music journeys and guided content to allow human minds and bodies to rest naturally, and enhance experiences of art and music. We are centralising the effort from artists, scientists,
therapists and engineers, to offer a complete form of lifestyle that supports well-being."
