We are proud to share a new piece of art created especially for Bjørn’s International School by Copenhagen-based artist Rikke Jensen, known for her distinctive cityscapes, local storytelling, and visual portraits of Copenhagen neighbourhoods. This brand-new poster for BIS captures both our school and the community around us.

Alongside this special piece, Rikke’s work is now on display throughout our school corridors, bringing even more colour, creativity, and local identity into our everyday environment.

To all our BIS families: don’t miss the chance to see the exhibition during our End-of-Term Party and Graduation Ceremony next week. Take a moment to walk the halls, enjoy the artwork, and celebrate the year with us.

This week, our English E students hosted their Global Perspectives Fair, the final stage of their long-term project Think. Create. Influence.

Over the past weeks, students have researched issues that directly affect young people, explored different perspectives, and created both research posters and creative outcomes designed to inform, challenge, and inspire.

From social media and academic pressure to identity, inclusion, and mental health, the fair gave students the opportunity to share their findings with the wider school community and engage in meaningful discussions with both staff and students.

A strong example of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and student voice in action. Well done to everyone involved.

Over the past two Wednesdays, DD and EC visited the Greenlandic House, where they learned about seal skin and its traditional uses.

The children made some fantastic keyrings and posters, and also had the chance to try on Inuit clothing.

The external supervision report (tilsynserklæring) for the 2025–2026 school year is now available.

The report is based on several visits across the year, where the inspector observed lessons across subjects and year groups, spoke with students, teachers, and leadership, and reviewed teaching materials and plans.

The overall conclusion is clear:
Bjørns Internationale Skole meets, and in many areas exceeds, the level expected of the Danish Folkeskole.

Key points from the report include:

• Teaching across all subject areas (humanities, sciences, and practical/creative subjects) is assessed to be at the expected level or above
• Students’ academic standards in Danish, mathematics, and English are strong, with English highlighted as particularly high
• The overall academic level is described as “very high”, supported by both classroom observations and exam results
• There is a clear and consistent focus on democratic education, student voice, and respect for human rights

The inspector’s overall assessment is that the school functions very well both academically and socially, with a strong focus on both learning and wellbeing.

This month, we were delighted to finally celebrate our annual Cultural Evening following its postponement.

It is one of the moments in the school year that most clearly reflects who we are as a community, with students and families coming together to share their cultures and learn from one another in a genuinely open and welcoming environment.

This year’s event was one of the strongest in recent memory, with an impressive variety of food from around the world and a wide range of performances, including Chinese New Year celebrations, Indian Bollywood songs, a school band bringing together students and teachers, and jazz music performed by former students.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the evening such a success.

I de sidste par uger har eleverne i DD og DE arbejdet med 3D-print.
Vi var så heldige at få en forælder ud og undervise eleverne.
Eleverne konkurrerede i at lave den mest holdbare bro, ud af så lidt materiale som muligt. Nogle kunne holde til at en voksen mand stod på dem. Imponerende. Eleverne arbejdede med forskellige løsninger, et IKEA samle-selv bro, enkelte designs til mere avancerede.
Deres flotte broer vil blive udstillet til Kulturelaften.
