Chen Taichi Denmark - Copenhagen

Chen Taichi Denmark - Copenhagen Chen Taichi School in Denmark, Copenhagen, run by Chris Wang, disciple of Bosco Baek from Chen Bing Taiji Academy.

Our mission is to preserve and restore, to promote and promulgate, the teachings of the original Chen Family Taijiquan from Chen Village where Tai Chi was created under the lineage of Master Chen Bing in efforts to educate and improve health and well being through physical practice. Also, it is to maintain the original martial-arts practical methods as taught in Chen Village. All Taijiquan styles

such as Yang, Wu, Sun and other various styles derived from Chen Family Taijiquan. Since 1600, Chen Family Taijiquan has been practiced and suceeded by Chen Family in China because it is a martial art of Chen Family’s. Master Chen Bing is the standard bearer who succeeds to the throne of authentic Chen Family Taijiquan. Silk Reeling Energy that Chen Family Taijiquan possesses is the key essence of how practitioners cultivate powerful energy and refresh the body and mind. By practicing this authentic Chen Family Taijiquan, practitioners are able to understand correct postures, usage of Qi (energy) and the changes of the negative and the positive energy (the energy change of Yin and Yang force or called the change of dual cosmic forces) in practice. Our organization only practices and teaches Chen Family Taijiquan as taught by Master Chen Bing without any unnecessary addition and subtraction

Chris Wang is a 14th generation disciple of Chen Family Taijiquan. An accomplished martial artist and teacher, he started his practice of modern Chinese Wushu at the young age of 13. He has since become a US national gold medalist in Push-Hands (moving-step), Spear, and Old and New Frame First Road and Second Road (Cannon-Fist), both highly regarded forms of Chen Family Taijiquan. In addition to his Taijiquan expertise, Wang is also a certified Ekatala Yoga teacher, demonstrating his commitment to holistic well-being and mindfulness practices. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his teaching, inspiring students to deepen their understanding and practice of Taijiquan and related disciplines.

The Taiji symbol ☯️ - Yin and Yang - represents the complementary forces that shape the universe.

Woman and man
Soft and hard
Slow and fast
Rising and lowering
Cultivating and releasing
Stillness and movement
Shadow and light
Night and day
Moon and sun

They may be opposites, yet they are never truly separate. Each contains a little of the other, naturally flowing and transforming into one another.

Nothing remains fixed. Stillness gives rise to movement. Night gradually becomes day. The moon waxes and wanes. What rises will eventually descend; what expands will eventually contract.

Yin flows into Yang, and Yang flows back into Yin - an endless cycle of change, balance, and renewal.

The Taiji symbol reminds us that balance is not a static state, but a continuous dance between opposing forces. Rather than resisting change, we can learn to move with it - finding harmony in the ever-changing relationship between Yin and Yang. ☯️

My Taiji teacher, Bosco Baek, is not only a master of Taiji but also a true yoga guru. When I first began training, my hips were so stiff that Padmasana felt completely out of reach—honestly, I thought my body simply wasn’t built for it. Through his guidance and yoga therapy, I eventually achieved the posture, and the transformation carried over into my Taiji. Relaxed hips are essential for smooth rotation of the dantian—the body’s deep core center where movement and power originate. Padmasana opened my hips in a way that unlocked a new level of ease and freedom in movement. With less tension and more space, the dantian’s range of motion becomes natural, fluid, and unblocked.

Select short moves from Old frame 2nd road (cannon fist). Developing good fajin (explosive power) requires constant balance between softness and hardness. It requires continuous training of one’s relaxation and body sensitivity of joint by joint pe*******on through silk reeling.

Reeling Silk Power, or Silk-Reeling Force (纏絲勁, chánsījìn), is a cornerstone of Chen Family Taijiquan. This internal technique revolves around spiral movements initiated from the Dantian (丹田, dāntián), located approximately 1.5 inches below the navel, to circulate Qi (氣, energy) throughout the body.

Key benefits of Reeling Silk practice include:

Opening the Eight Extraordinary Vessels (奇經八脈, qíjīng bāmài) to balance Yin and Yang.
Strengthening the Dantian core for enhanced physical and mental well-being.
Removing meridian blockages to alleviate ailments and improve overall health.

Reeling Silk integrates deep relaxation (Fang Song, 放鬆, fàngsōng) and precise spiral movements, allowing energy to permeate bones, joints, and nerves. Practitioners of all ages and conditions can benefit, experiencing profound improvements in health and vitality.
