BIG NEWS FOR AU! The International Academic Ranking of World Universities, commonly known as the Shanghai Ranking, has been released for 2026, and Aarhus University has moved up in the rankings. Advancing from 85th in 2025, we have now been ranked 81st! 🥳

We are so proud to share this accomplishment. The ranking reflects Aarhus University’s ongoing dedication to maintaining the highest quality of research, employing well-cited and reputable lecturers, and, above all, ensuring that students are heard and offered the best education they can receive.

Over 2,500 universities worldwide were evaluated on attributes such as their learning and research environments, research quality, international outlook, and industry engagement. However, only 1000 of the best-ranked universities were published!

We hope to continue to climb the rankings next year.

Aarhus Festuge is returning once again! 🎉 This 10-day festival is the perfect way to enjoy the last few days of summer and kick off the start of the new semester.

From August 28th to September 6th, the city will be filled with over 1000 unique events like concerts, good food, cultural experiences, and music - most of which will be free of charge! 💸 Aarhus Festuge is one of Northern Europe’s oldest cultural festivals and this annual tradition isn’t something to miss.
