Nepal has urged international tourists not to cancel their planned trips, assuring that the country remains open and welcoming to visitors despite the devastating floods and widespread destruction.
Tourism Minister Khadkaraj Paudel said Nepal’s Himalayan trails are still waiting for travelers, stressing that visiting the country now would not only be a holiday but also provide vital support to communities recovering from the disaster.
The appeal comes as Nepal faces concerns over declining tourism, damaged infrastructure and a difficult recovery, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that around 590 foreign nationals from 39 countries remain missing.
