Jean Baptiste GARABOEUF /Lacombe (1836-1886) Mirecourt . Although he is not very well known, he created extraordinary instruments that stand out for their beauty and sound. According to a certificate from Jean Jacques Raffin Paris, it was made around 1880.

CARESSA & FRANCAIS Paris 1919.
Albert Caressa and Henri Française were the junior partners in the Gand & Bernadel firm, and on Gustave Bernadel’s retirement in 1901 they continued the firm as Caressa & FRANCAIS. This pictured cello dates from 1919 and has a typical decoration on the back.

Émile BOULANGEOT (1877-1944) Apprenticed under Emile Laurent in 1890.Worked for Gustav Bernadel in Paris and stayed with CARESSA & FRANCAIS when they succeeded Bernadel (1901 ) until 1909, then joined Paul Blanchard in Lyon, whose workshop he took over in 1913. This is one of his 28 Celli he made. Very fine work in good condition.

NICOLAS FRANCOIS VUILLAUME (1802-1876) younger brother of Jean Baptiste Vuillaume. In 1828 established himself in Brussels, where he became official luthier to the Brussels Conservatory. His cellos are highly sought after by musicians worldwide.

Gaetano SGARABOTTO (1878-1959)
Vicenza-Brescia-Parma. A fine viola made in the copy of Scarampella. Sgarabotto was a pupil of Ricardo Antoniazzi and Leandro Bisiach. His antiqued copies are of highest stylistic quality and are sought after by connoisseurs and musicians.

An original peg from a Jacobus Stainer 1679 violin. The instrument was once in our collection.

Baroque violin in the style of Johann Schorn of Salzburg. Very finely carved lion’s head, similar to the Jacobus Stainer work. -violins

Giancarlo GUICCIARDI Modena He is Ansaldo Poggi’s most famous and important student. His violins are highly sought after, not only for their fine craftsmanship but also for their excellent sound quality. The instruments closely resemble Poggi’s works and command high prices. This beautiful violin is made in 1972 and is in perfect condition. -violins

Members of the Orchester des Teatro Comunale di Bologna visited our Shop to try fine violins and bows. They are fantastic musicians and really nice people. -player

For lovers of early violins, this instrument by ANTONIO MARIANI around (1663 - 1708) is a highlight. The MARIANI family was active in Pesaro Italy in the 17th century to the beginning of the 18th century. The works are reminiscent of the Brecian school.

A superb violin made by Stefano Scarampella Mantova 1887. The condition is perfect and the sound really fantastic. -violins
