Finalists once again: Christian and Lars Engel at “EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award 2026”

Christian and Lars Engel have been selected for the “EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award 2026” final in the “Family Business” category. On October 5, they received the finalist award at the BHS Corrugated headquarters in Weiherhammer. Representatives from EY and ODDO BHF also used the visit to exchange views on the economic environment, the future of industrial value creation, and the strategic development of BHS Corrugated.

The renewed recognition as finalists honors the entrepreneurial achievements of Christian and Lars Engel. Through their vision, innovative drive, and clear strategic direction, they have played a decisive role in shaping the development of BHS Corrugated over many years.

At the beginning of 2026, we introduced – a new, digital approach to high-graphic corrugated packaging.

By integrating digital preprint technology into the production workflow, NextGraphX enables converters and FMCG brands to achieve high-quality graphics with greater flexibility, shorter lead times, and lower cost per box.

➡️ In addition to the digital approach of NextGraphX, we are expanding the ecosystem to support high-performance litho‑laminating setups in partnership with Kohler Coating, thereby covering a broader range of production requirements.

With Kohler's high-speed single-face laminator, customers can leverage laminating technology for premium graphic packaging. BHS Corrugated contributes its Wet End expertise, ensuring consistent board quality and optimal conditions for downstream converting.

Together with GreaseBoss, we are launching iCorr® Grease – a new solution designed to bring visibility and reliability to one of the most critical maintenance tasks on corrugators.

For decades, manual greasing has been one of the least visible maintenance activities, despite accounting for up to 50% of maintenance time. With iCorr® Grease, every greasing action is automatically logged and verified, creating full transparency and an auditable compliance history.

Following a one-year deployment at a U.S. customer site, BHS Corrugated recorded the following results:

✅ Up to 95% lubrication compliance
✅ Approximately 10% higher production output

400,000 meters in 24 hours – a new milestone for our customer! 🙌

On July 6, 2026, Fabyab Co. Packaging Solutions in Erbil, Iraq, achieved an impressive new production record: more than 400,000 linear meters of corrugated board produced within 24 hours.

This achievement follows the successful speed upgrade carried out by BHS Corrugated in February 2026, which increased the speed of the VALUE S Line from 250 m/min to 300 m/min. Just a few months later, the results are clearly visible 📈

Reaching this milestone required more than technology alone. It is the result of a strong Lifecycle Partnership, continuous optimization, and the dedication of the entire operating team.
