It's a mammoth week for us next week with 7 defences taking place on 3 days. The technical set-up is a little complex & each defence under current regulations means approx. 3 - 4 extra hours work for us. Just to explain why we may not always answer the phone at the moment

Symposium 2020 - International Symposium The EUREKA! Symposium is an international symposium in the field of Life Sciences and is organized by the PhD students of the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS).

Just to clarify post from yesterday:
Update thesis defence: The University of Würzburg senate has agreed on swift adjustments to the central university doctoral degree regulations, permiting defences of doctoral theses via video conference. This enables the to allow thesis defences again.
Detailed infos will be sent round via email asap. Where possible, the examinee, examiners, chairperson and minute taker should all be in one room, observing the recommended hygiene measures.
Preserving the public nature of the defence: colleagues, family, friends etc are invited to attend via video conference.
Only in cases where examinee or examiner is eg affected by travel bans is particpation for these parties possible via video conference.
