We’re excited to welcome Prof. Dr. Monika Pukli (University of Strasbourg) who will deliver a guest lecture on the topic “Sound Patterns Through Variation: What’s in a Phoneme?“

Das Institut für Medienwissenschaft stellt zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine Assistenz der Geschäftsführung (50 %, E 6 TV-L) (m/w/d) ein.

Das Aufgabengebiet beinhaltet die selbständige Korrespondenz, die Beantwortung von Studierenden- und Medienanfragen, die Betreuung der Lehrenden sowie die Bewirtschaftung des Institutsbudgets und allgemeine Sekretariatsaufgaben einschließlich Verwaltungsaufgaben.

Vorausgesetzt wird eine abgeschlossene kaufmännische oder vergleichbare Ausbildung. Ebenso werden gute Englischkenntnisse, gute Kenntnisse im Umgang mit MS Office für Mac und Internetanwendungen, Erfahrungen in der universitären Verwaltung sowie Affinität zu digitalen Medien vorausgesetzt.

Erwartet werden sowohl die Fähigkeit zu selbständiger Arbeit als auch zur Arbeit nach Vorgaben, Zuverlässigkeit, Engagement, hohe Kommunikationsfähigkeit und Flexibilität sowie ergebnisorientiertes Arbeiten und die Bereitschaft, sich in Neues einzuarbeiten.

Are you an MA student of English Literatures and Cultures, American Studies, or English Linguistics?

Join our Workshop for (international) MA students!
Transitioning from one academic culture to another can be challenging. To help you navigate your studies at the English Department, we welcome you to participate in our workshop for MA students.

Over the course of four tutorial sessions, we will answer your questions about the university, the English Department, the structure of your MA program, and academic writing in your discipline. The workshop is conducted by advanced students in the MAs.

Got any questions? Bring them along! The workshop is open to all students of the above programs, especially international students, at any stage of your studies.
