Virtual Reality Brille erlaubt Blick in eine gesunde Zukunft: Der Alltag von Menschen mit Magersucht ist geprägt von der Angst vor Gewichtszunahme und den Maßnahmen, eine Zunahme zu verhindern. Entsprechend schwierig ist es für die Betroffenen, die medizinisch dringend geratene Gewichtszunahme zu erreichen. Wissenschaftlerinnen der Abteilung für Psychosomatische Medizin und Psychotherapie am Universitätsklinikum Tübingen und des Max-Planck-Instituts für Intelligente Systeme haben nun ein Virtual Reality Tool entwickelt, mit dem Betroffene sich dem gefürchteten Szenario stellen können. Aktuell wurden die ersten Studienergebnisse in der renommierten Fachzeitschrift „Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics“ publiziert. Sie deuten darauf hin, dass die wiederholte virtuelle Darstellung mit gesundem Körpergewicht Personen mit Magersucht hilft, ihre Angst vor Gewichtzunahme zu reduzieren. https://bit.ly/44JxeJ7
