🇩🇪📚 A new chapter begins!

We are happy to welcome the international students of the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (WHZ) to their intensive German course!

Over the coming weeks, the students will strengthen their German skills and prepare for their studies and everyday life in Germany. We’re excited to support them on this journey and to see their progress along the way.

And hopefully, by the end of the course, there will be a lot more German conversations happening! 😊

🎓 One week of Winter Semester 2026/27 - and what a start! 🌍

This week, we welcomed our new students to the Winter Semester 2026/27 — and we’ve already experienced quite a lot together.

For the first time, we’re teaching in a hybrid classroom. Some of our students are here with us in Glauchau, while others join us from home. It’s a new situation for all of us, and yes, we had to get used to it first.

But after just a few days, we’re already finding our rhythm. We’re learning together, figuring things out, and getting to know each other along the way.

What makes this semester especially exciting is how international our group is. Students from different countries and backgrounds are now sitting in the same classroom — some literally, some virtually. And it’s great to see that friendships are already starting to form after only one week. 🤝🌍

We know that the first days in a new school, a new city, or even a new country can be challenging. There are so many new things to learn and so many questions to figure out.

So we’re taking it one step at a time — together.

And after this first week, we can already say: we’re looking forward to everything that’s still to come. ❤️

✨ “Team Week” at Studiencolleg Glauchau

Before the new semester starts, we spent a whole week learning, planning, creating—and having a good time together. 💛

From workshops on bringing more movement into the classroom and making lessons even more engaging, to preparing everything for Winter Semester 2026/27. 📚💡

And of course, Team Week wasn't all work! We enjoyed a healthy breakfast together, got creative while painting ceramics, exchanged ideas, laughed a lot, and simply enjoyed some time together outside the classroom.

A new semester always brings new students, new challenges, and new ideas. And we're excited to take all of that with us into the coming months.

🇨🇳🇩🇪 From Shanghai to Meerane

A school visit can be much more than a tour through classrooms.

Recently, we welcomed students and teachers from an affiliated high school of Shanghai International Studies University to Meerane. What started as a school visit quickly turned into a day full of spontaneous encounters, new friendships and shared experiences.

🏐 Our Chinese and German students spontaneously teamed up for a game of volleyball.
🥞 Afterwards, they made crêpes together—because food is always a good way to connect.
🏫 At the Internationales Gymnasium Meerane, two of our own Chinese students showed the visitors around and shared their personal experiences of studying and living in Germany.

And this was probably the most special part: instead of simply telling the students from Shanghai what studying in Germany is like, they could hear it from students who had made the journey themselves.

Different countries. Different languages. One shared school experience. 🌏

Thank you for visiting us and for a wonderful day full of exchange, laughter and new connections. We hope it won't be the last time our paths cross! ❤️

🎓 One semester. Countless memories.

What started with new faces, a new country, and lots of questions turned into friendships, unforgettable moments, and personal growth.

This semester was about much more than classes and exams. It was about finding your way, supporting each other, laughing together, and taking one step closer to studying in Germany.
