Joy of Living

Joy of Living The 'Joy of Living Institute' supports people to live a fulfilled, happy life. Featured by Sakino Mathilde Sternberg Yalom

I have created this page to support people to live a joyful, fulfilled life. After many years of experiencing so many ups and downs myself, and also seeing this in the lives of others, all I can say is this: The only purpose of living is to live fully, with all your heart, all your talents, dedicated, joyful and ecstatic! I have had many teachers, and those who I learned from the most were those

who lived - and some of them still are here - a dedicated uncompromising life. This is what I teach: Don't compromise, never give up, every day is a new beginning! Trust in life, it gives you exactly what you need to experience right now, in order to grow into who you truly are.

This is beautiful!

Long before Dolly Parton gave hundreds of millions of books to children, she tried a remarkably simple experiment in her Tennessee hometown. 💛

In 1988, the high-school dropout rate in Sevier County was reportedly around 35%. Parton, who grew up there, wanted to give local students another reason to stay in school.

Through her Dollywood Foundation, she launched the Buddy Program for seventh- and eighth-graders.

The idea was clever: each student chose a “buddy.” Parton promised that if both students successfully graduated from high school, each would receive $500. The incentive wasn't only financial—it encouraged friends to keep each other motivated and accountable.

The results were dramatic.

According to the Dollywood Foundation, the county's dropout rate subsequently fell to about 6%, and the Buddy Program is credited as one initiative that contributed to the improvement. It's important not to attribute the entire 29-point decline to one program alone, but its success helped shape Parton's growing commitment to education.

A few years later, in 1995, she launched the Imagination Library in the same county. Today, that program has mailed more than 300 million free books to young children worldwide.

It started with a lesson Dolly returned to throughout her philanthropy:

Sometimes changing someone's future begins by showing them you believe they have one. ❤️📚

Can you imagine sitting in a healing circle with like minded people, sharing with each other, without risking uninvited feedback, just being supportive towards one another?
Healing together?
And can you imagine this happening online?
My experience is: yes!
When covid hit in 2020, we had to stop in-person meetings and had to invent new ways to come together and help each other heal.
But even now, as we can be together in physical form, this one group has continued on zoom.
Every Tuesday from 6-8pm (CET) we meet for 2 hours, meditate, share and do healing work.
You sign up for ten meetings and then decide whether to continue.
You are welcome to join the next round, starting August 18. Very few spots left.
