Correct pronunciation can save you from a lot of embarrassing moments when learning German. (z.B n***t vs Nacht).
But it can be hard to pronounce things correctly when making sounds that we are not used to.
(I still have a ton of trouble rolling my "r"s in Spanish 😅)
Have a word that you just CANNOT pronounce correctly, no matter how hard you try? Comment it below 👇

Want to sound like a "native German" ? This might be harder than you think.
Not only can German pronunciation be super tricky, there are so many different dialects of German. Each one is unique in its own way.
And while there is definitely some overlap between larger dialect groups, different dialects can have a hard time understanding each other - even as native German speakers!
Choose what's best for you based on where you are living or what your goals are!

Listening is such an important skill when learning a language. Not only does it let you understand what's going on around you in your new home, but it can help you improve your pronunciation if done correctly.
This means:
-listening actively

Want to finally be able to say more than "Sprechen Sie Englisch?"
Set some goals that motivate you to keep moving forward.
Think about why you really need to learn German : to go to the supermarket, to take your kids to doctor's appointments, to join a running club? Center your goals around your reasons.
Then keep them specific and measurable. Saying "I want to improve my German" is great, but isn't giving you a way to measure. It can be words, minutes per day, times per week....whatever works for you!

Happy Monday!
The new year means a fresh start for a lot of people. New goals we want to achieve, a chance to reflect on what we accomplished the past year, maybe we have a better idea of what works and what doesn't work for us.
Because of this, our word of the week is Vorsatz (resolution).
And maybe you don't set new year's resolutions, but I'm sure you still have goals - and that's what matters.
Try writing your own sentence using the word of the week and comment it below 👇
