Baltic Model United Nations

Baltic Model United Nations The Baltic Model United Nations is an MUN conference in Rostock, Germany.

It takes place annually and is organized by students of the Innerstädtisches Gymnasium Rostock. In contrast to many other MUN’s BALMUN has a personal character where a limited number of participants get the possibility to develop a cooperate feeling over the four days of conference.

We are absolutely happy with the videos our film team produces every year. Bjarne leads the team and is both, creative and professional.
The closing video perfectly mirrors the atmosphere of the conference!

Our BALMUN XVIII conference took place only a week ago.
About 350 people took part in it, about 100 of whom were in our great BALMUN team.
We had a lot of fruitful debates, qualified guest speakers, delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere and a lot of fun.
MUN is a great way for young people to understand the rules and methods of international diplomacy better. Delegates and student officers gain experiences in political thinking and acting, their teachers can see them apply their knowledge.
The conference could not work if their was no hardworking team behind it. Atousa and Eunsu were great in their roles as Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General. Susanna from JFKs Berlin completed their team as PGA. We had many delegates, who had been prepared by Juno, a former student, and Daniel as a chair. Sarah worked as conference manager. April was resonsible for the staff. Maya and Larissa lead the catering team, supported by Jae and Mattes. Alois was editor in chief of the Baltic Herald, greatly supported by Rawa. The film team was lead by Bjarne, the tech team by Friedrich and Carlo. Ida and Finia were responsible for the marketing, Helen and Kira were allrounders, just like Mina, Amelie and Liv. Thanks to all the students of the ISG who worked in the different teams! They all spent a lot of time and passion on the conference.
Next week we will evaluate the conference. BALMUN XIX will take place from May 20th to May 23rd 2027!
We hope to see you all again!

Our patron for this year's conference ist Minister Reem Alabali Radovan, who started her political career in Mecklenburg West Pommerania. In the German government she is Minister for economic cooperation which makes her a great advocate for our motto betteR togetheR. During the pandemic she served as keynote speaker for one conference.
We are very glad to have her support!
