Beyond Canon

This week, the new lecture period started here in Regensburg, which also means that the Centre's summer programme starts!

We already started with a fascinating talk by David Cielontko on Wednesday and will continue on April 29th!

With this, the Centre and Team would also like to wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. We are very thankful we could spent another year with so many great scholars and friends supporting us. We all hope you have a great start into the New Year and we are looking forward to seeing you all happy and healthy again in the New Year.

Yesterday we celebrated our yearly tradition of having a workshop on Jan Bremmer's birthday! ;)

This year, Emanuela Valeriani, together with her Italian colleagues, organised a conference on the Palatine Chapel first in Palermo in Septemeber and now a follow up workshop here in Regensburg -thank you Emanuela and to everyone who participated!

in the last two weeks, the Centre was bustling with Research Colloquia, birthday parties and planning for tomorrow's little workshop!

Since there were no Colloquia in the past two weeks, we would like to gift you these two splendid moments of Jitse Dijkstra visiting the Centre last Thursday. He gave us an interesting talk on “Was he ’Holy Man’ a Hallmark of Late Antiquity? Some Reflections on Hagiography in Light of Peter Brown’s Recent Memoir”.

And of course we also do not want you to miss the fact that last week we had the wonderful opportunity to host Johan Thom at the Centre, who presented his studies on "Whose Idea is it Anyway? The Origin of Philosophical Meterial in Biblical Texts".

Today we welcomed Daniele Minisini at our Research Colloquium. He gave us an interesting insight into "The Dynamics of Transmission, Translation, and Transformation of the Book of Jubilees"
