Today’s Highlight: Xpanding Innovative Alliance (XiA project)
XiA is an EU-funded project dedicated to preparing healthcare for the European Health Data Space (EHDS) by closing skills gaps and fostering a culture of interoperability and digital transformation.

🎯 Key Goals:
- Develop high-quality educational materials & courses
- Address skills gaps in digital health interoperability, cybersecurity, soft/green skills & digital transformation
- Create personalized learning pathways and accredited programs
- Support healthcare providers, digital health solution providers & stakeholders with micro-learning (online & face-to-face)

- Equip professionals and organizations with EHDS-ready skills
- Foster cross-border collaboration and interoperability

👥 International collaboration doesn't happen by chance. It is made possible by people who connect experts, organisations, and ideas to move Digital Health forward.

Frederic Lievens has spent more than 30 years helping build those connections. With a background in economics, management, and marketing, he has contributed to numerous European and international initiatives in telemedicine, home healthcare, assistive technologies, and digital health. As Vice Executive Director of the International Society for Telemedicine & e-Health - ISFTEH, he supports collaboration across the global Digital Health community, while also bringing extensive experience from EU-funded projects, international conferences, and educational programmes in care technology.

We are delighted to welcome Frederic Lievens to the DigiHealthDay Advisory Board. Today’s Highlight: Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on AI & ML in Healthcare 🤝💡

DIT-ECRI is hosting a unique short-term programme that blends a virtual component with an on-site experience in Pfarrkirchen, Germany 🇩🇪. The BIP brings together bachelor's and master's students in Health and Computer Sciences (no prior coding required!) to learn, apply, and innovate in the field of Digital Health.

📅 Programme dates
The BIP programme runs for seven days, starting with virtual lectures and group work in early November, followed by onsite lectures, activities, and participation in the DigiHealthDay Congress during the following week.

🎓 What participants will gain:
- Foundations of AI & Machine Learning in healthcare
- Hands-on learning with ML, Neural Networks & Large Language Models
- Insights on data quality, algorithmic bias, ethics, and regulation
- Exploration of user experience design and adoption in healthcare
- 4 ECTS credits + a certificate (with 90% attendance & assignments completed)

✨ Extras: Networking opportunities, social gatherings, fun activities, and of course – DigiHealthDay!
