A huge thank you to our AYCD students for sharing their stories with so much heart, honesty, and enthusiasm. From new friendships and language skills to personal growth, confidence, and unforgettable experiences—your stories reminded us why volunteering matters.

As Beate Heindl, Volunteer Coordinator at Caritas, put it: “We urgently need young people to get involved. Programmes like this make a real difference—and it would be a win for everyone if civic engagement were structurally embedded into university studies.”

📅 Applications for our AYCD Winter Semester projects open on 25 September—we can’t wait to welcome a new group of volunteers!
