Morgenland Akademie

Morgenland Akademie is a one week long music workshop for young musicians between 14-20 years, free of charge, happening once a year in Germany. Main topic of the program is the music of the Mena region and the Balkans, with their various rhythms and tonality systems, such as the maqam. Another important part of the academy is the development of improvisation skills, getting away from scores and a fixed structure. Participants are being trained by three professional musicians / music coaches. In 2023 the program offers four scholarships to young musicians based in Turkey or Jordan, including support with travel expenses and visa fees. For more infos, please contact us directly via [email protected]

The academy is a cooperation of Gesellschaft der Freunde.Morgenland Festival Osnabrück e.V. and Morgenland Festival Osnabrück

What a great gang is this, himm? 🫠
Morgenland Academy has come to an end last Friday for this gang, after almost a week full of music workshop every day, spending time together in the nature of the countryside of Osnabrueck, jam sessions and sauna treats in the evenings, lots of snacks here and there, some games, a little concert at Bischof-Lilje-Altenzentrum in Osnabrueck, a live-recording session and a huge final concert at Lagerhalle with a hall packed with excited audience. What a week! A big thanks to everyone who was involved in some way, if big or small, we feel the Academy-Family crowing ❤️

Special thank to our alumni Anne and Mathilda for these shots!

And much more is still to come during this week, until we see you at the final concert next Friday at Lagerhalle Osnabrück!
