This uke wants to be played 😀 Beautiful little waltz by Choan Gálvez (Reid's), my current practice piece!

Trying out my latest family member under the worst conditions possible... In total darkness in the car. Well. Maybe not the worst. I will just have to feel my way around it.

Staying with the Irish theme for a second... This arrangement of The Parting Glass by Samantha Muir kept coming up in my stream a lot, lately. And since it was so nice and I love the song, I downloaded one of her songbooks, today.
So here is a first go. Challenging, but in a good way 😁

Recently I saw the new Rock & Pop Classics for Low-G-Ukulele by Patrick Steinbach. The first one was great, so I had to get it! And while I got that, I noticed his older book Irish Ukulele Fingerstyle. Got that, as well.
It just arrived. Here is an early try of Wraggle Taggle Gypsies. Playing could still improve, but it gives you an idea of the type of arrangement you will find in the book! Love it!

Just had to play this song again. And again. And again. I am stuck on it. In a good way.

Since I just got myself a ticket for RISE AGAINST, and I have new strings on my uke... I am trying to get into the mood. Refreshing some lyrics!
Hero of War is great. The original, that is 😁

To whoever needs to hear this, this time of year. A solid wood ukulele is not a toy, given for Christmas and returned or passed on the next day.
Or is it?

The uke is such a little bundle of joy! I think it sure is a punk instrument. Small and simple, always there, follows no rules!
Play it loud, proud and maybe wrong 🤟

What's your favourite punk rock song to cover on an uke? Looking for some inspiration, here!

And yes, I made this design and I am trying to sell it. Commercial punk rock. The ironic kind. Lovely!

Yesterday, I just so made it to the uke meetup in Frankfurt... for the last 25 minutes 😅 I met Gwendolyn Völker, who gave me Hardy C. Lugerths latest book, the Peter Pan Suite. So now I had a first look, just playing the Overture. And hey, I managed to lull my son to sleep with it! Drifting off into dreamland... now I might do the same.

A sunny evening in the car, perfect for this languid little tune by Hardy C. Lugerth... The Friendly John Hurt. A real first-take one-take 😁 Luckily this is a nice and easy piece. The rest of the time I was mostly still playing the Cypress Blues. Because it's just great!
