Destruction of Pompei and Herculanum took place nine years later, exactly to the date, after
Roman legionaries destroyed God’s house - the Sanctuary - in Jerusalem - thus God destroyed the luxurious watering holes of the Roman elite and a most popular place of rest where soldiers participating in the war campaigns, were sent for rest and recovery, as both cities where the "Malibu" type resorts of their time.
So, ... was this God’s revenge? What is also quite incredible(!) to comprehend is the fact, that it is not just the same date the Romans destroyed the Second Temple (Herod’s Temple) but that this date in 70 A.D. was the same date that the Babylonians had destroyed the First Temple (Solomon’s Temple) in 586 B.C.E. in the month of Av (Roman month name August). Although the exact date of the Babylonian destruction is uncertain and two different dates are given in the Hebrew Bible for the destruction of the First Temple. In 2 Kings 25:8 the date is the 7th of the Hebrew month of Av; Jeremiah 52:12 says it occurred on the 10th of Av. The rabbis compromised and chose the 9th of Av (Tisha b’Av). That is the date on which observant Jews, sitting on the floor of their synagogues, still mourn the destruction of the First Temple, Solomon’s Temple, in 586 B.C.E. and the Second Temple, Herod’s Temple, in 70 C.E. Therefore, was this coincidental, or was it a wrath of God?!

Rzymscy legioniści zniszczyli dom Boga - Świątyni w Jerozolimie - w ten sposób Bóg zniszczył luksusowe bary rzymskiej elity i najpopularniejsze miejsce odpoczynku, do którego żołnierze biorący udział w kampaniach wojennych byli wysyłani na odpoczynek i regenerację, ponieważ oba miasta były kurortami typu "Malibu" swoich czasów.
Więc, ... czy to była Boża zemsta?
To, co jest również dość zadziwiające(!) to fakt, że nie jest to po prostu ta sama data, w której Rzymianie zniszczyli Drugą Świątynię (Świątynię Heroda), ale że jest to ta sama data w 70 r. n.e., w której Babilończycy zniszczyli Pierwszą Świątynię (Świątynię Salomona) w 586 r. p.n.e. w miesiącu Av (rzymska nazwa miesiąca na sierpień).
Chociaż dokładna data (dzień) zniszczenia świątyni przez Babilończyków jest niepewna, a w Biblii hebrajskiej podano dwie różne daty zniszczenia Pierwszej Świątyni. W 2 Królów 25:8 data ta to 7. dzień hebrajskiego miesiąca Aw; Jeremiasz 52:12 mówi, że wydarzyło się to 10. Aw. Rabini poszli na kompromis i wybrali 9. Aw (Tisha be’Aw). To jest data, w której pobożni Żydzi, siedząc na podłodze swoich synagog, nadal opłakują zniszczenie Pierwszej Świątyni, Świątyni Salomona, w 586 r. p.n.e. i Drugiej Świątyni, Świątyni Heroda, w 70 r. n.e. Czy zatem był to przypadek, czy też gniew Boży?!
