After a two-year break the famous Business Graduation Night could take place in presence again. We booked a hall in PARKS (Stadtpark) and welcomed 230 guests: graduates, alumni, family, friends and faculty members.

The evening was packed with a tight schedule. Graduates had the opportunity to be photographed with their entourage while other guests could converse on the terrace with a glass of champagne in their hand.

Prof. Fricke and Prof. Hofmann started the evening with an opening speech. The whole evening was moderated by Prof. Riedmüller who led the participants through the presentation of certificates, and a student speech held by Tamara Aepfelbach.

Today is a public holiday in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. So there will be no lectures today.

The secretariat is also closed, but we will be in office again tomorrow from 11 am to 2 pm.

A joint research project of the Tshwane University of Technology and TH Nürnberg is currently conducted. One of the main objectives of this research is to understand the economic and social similarities and differences between Germany and South Africa. The project will be conducted over the four next years.

The undergoing research is focusing on:
• Ecological sustainability
• Young female talents in South Africa
• Foreign Direct Investment of German companies in South Africa
• Impact of COVID-19 on human labor in Germany and South Africa
• Social impact of the pandemic in South Africa and Germany
• The leadership styles used by the government and private companies
