in this story, it all began with a tree.

nikita studied everything that surrounded it: he kept a weather journal, scheduled graftings, pollination, fertilization, and read michurin extensively.

to katya, it seemed that, in caring for the tree, nikita had merged with it. then, one night, she had a dream.
: : :
in the dream, their balcony, where the tree grew, had become a boundless apple orchard flooded with sunlight. nikita walked deeper and deeper into this fruitful infinity, his body dissolving into light and branches.

katya told nikita about her dream. and nikita wove the screenplay around it. he showed the script to the ai, whose visions, like dreams, emerge from surreal hallucinations of reality. together, they created KYNÆYE, a film about a human being who dreams that they are a tree, which dreams it is our dog mandy, who dreams she is a machine, which dreams it is a human being.

after seeing the film, katya had another dream.

in it, an apple box stood in an empty white room, filled to the brim with fruit. there was a hollow in the box. katya looked inside and saw a film about a human being who dreams that they are a tree, which dreams it is our dog mandy, who dreams she is a machine, which dreams it is a human being.

and so he enclosed a film within a living sculpture, and KYNÆYE became apple box cut [KYNÆYE]

here, life overlaps with cinema, and dreams become interconnected.
