On social media, we often share success stories of our alumni - today we would like to share a very internal one.

Three months ago a bunch of active students from the last two classes teamed up and set an ambitious goal for the next application phase marketing campaign: to reach more applicants than ever before. Aiming for 350+ applications, the group called itself “Initiative 350”.

In the course of the last application period, the initiative organized 10 info events for about 1000 interested students, 50 lecture visits, 1 Inspire&Dine with 200+ guests, and hung over 30 posters at 11 locations. Thanks to their efforts, we received 272 newsletter sign-ups, reached over 100,000 people on LinkedIn, and increased website visits by 2300%. 📢

It has been amazing to see the dedication and drive of the initiative.

Now, three months later we received an incredible number of 362 applications for the upcoming class of Fall 2022! 🚀

Meet Daniel Metzler, our third speaker for the upcoming Inspire&Dine! 🚀

Daniel Metzler is the CEO of Isar Aerospace. He studied aerospace engineering at the Technical University of Munich and founded Isar Aerospace in 2018. In just four years, the company has become a competitor to established companies like SpaceX by developing Spectrum, a two-stage liquid-fueled rocket. He will share his perspective on The New Global Space Race with us. 💡

Meet Sonja Mayer!

Sonja is part of the Executive Team at OroraTech. She works closely with the founders in shaping the future of NewSpace Intelligence. Founded in 2018 at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), OroraTech uses an orbital constellation of custom nanosatellites to monitor wildfires with realtime data. Before joining OroraTech, she worked as a Management Consultant, helping clients envisioning change and mastering the digital transformation across organizations. Sonja will share with us her perspective on the topic of NewSpace Intelligence for a sustainable Earth.

CDTM goes to España! ☀

Today marks the last day of our application phase but also the first day of our CDTM x Esade Startup tour to Barcelona.

Over the next three days, nearly 20 Centerlings will connect with experienced entrepreneurs, get to know the Spanish startup scene and bring the CDTM spirit across German borders. 💡

Kicking off our joint Managing Product Development (MPD) projects with AutoScout24 and CHECK24 Vergleichsportal GmbH 🚀

This semester, two of our student teams work together with CHECK24 and AutoScout24 during the 12-week MPD project. In this project, our students go through the full product development cycle, from understanding the problem, conducting user research and brainstorming innovative solutions, to developing their own prototype and pitching it at the Design Fair.

A big thank you to the whole CHECK24 and AutoScout24 team for your support, including our CDTM alumni Michael J. Trenkwalder (CHECK24) and Peter Juras (AutoScout24). We wish everyone much success with these exciting projects! 🙌

Some days ago, our alumna Prof. Dr. Laura Bechthold officially started as Professor for Technology Assessment & Cultural Management at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt. Congratulations and all the best, Laura! 😍

From 2013 to 2018, Laura obtained her PhD and taught courses at the CDTM. As a professor, her research focus is on responsible innovation and related future skills. 💡

Together with a team of interdisciplinary researchers Laura is currently in the process of founding the Bavarian Foresight Institute to work on holistic solutions and novel approaches around the topics of strategic foresight, digitization and sustainability.

How can you govern an 1800+ employee, internationally renowned consultancy without hierarchy?

Last week, CDTM students had the chance to connect with Sofie Ek on this topic at our Future Leadership Series.

Sofie Ek is a Partner at Netlight, an Amsterdam based digital consultancy, and has established a unique organisational structure. Netlight is a "Company without managers, without job titles, and without corporate values on coffee cups". During the fireside chat beyond the usual buzzwords, Sofie shared her perspective on Netlight's leadership culture and how to create a truly inclusive company culture.

For many years, the Future Leadership Series has been connecting CDTM students and alumni with the most inspiring economic, political, and social leaders of our time, such as former federal minister Philipp Rösler or Siemens CEO Joe Käser.
