// Workshop with Adji Cissoko✨//

A huge thank you to Adji Cissoko for bringing her incredible energy, passion, and inspiring way of working to our students over the past few days.

For the last three days, Adji has been working intensively with our Mittelstufe 2 & 3, sharing her experience, creativity, and unique artistic approach in the studio.

Today, she will continue with an exciting workshop for our Bachelor classes and we already want to take a moment to thank her for the inspiring work and dedication she has brought to the ballet academy Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.

It is something truly special to welcome back our alumna and see her return to the academy, this time as a guest teacher, inspiring the next generation of artists.

Congrats to our alumna Olja Aleksić ✨!

✨ Announcing the First Irène-Lejeune Prize Winner for the Bayerisches Junior Ballett München ✨

A milestone for Munich’s dance community: the Irène-Lejeune-Prize has been newly dedicated to the Bayerisches Junior Ballett München (BJBM), focusing on supporting young dancers at the very beginning of their professional stage careers. We are delighted to announce that the 2026 prize has been awarded to Olja Aleksić! 🎉

Awarded every two years, the Irène-Lejeune-Prize honors outstanding achievement, exceptional talent, artistic expression, personality, and a strong sense of team spirit—while also specifically encouraging the continued artistic development of the recipient.

Born in Belgrade, Olja trained at the Lujo Davičo School and the Belgrade Dance Institute before continuing her studies in Munich at the Ballet Academy of the University for Music and Theatre Munich. Olja joined the Bayerisches Junior Ballett München at the start of the 2025/26 season.

From her early standout performances at the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung Matinees — including the central duet in Kinsun Chan’s «JIT» by Kinsun Chan and the leading couple in Grand Pas de Hongrois from «Raymonda» — to her striking interpretation of Marco Goecke’s «Devil’s Kitchen» at the Matinee this morning, Olja has impressed with her remarkable stage presence and artistic depth.

Endowed with €5,000, the Irène-Lejeune Prize not only recognizes excellence but also sends a strong signal of support for the next generation of dance talent and the future of ballet in Munich.

Congratulations, Olja!

Congratulations to everyone who performed onstage this morning for the second of our Spring Matinees. It is safe to say that the future of dance looks bright!

With students of the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Theatre Munich presenting two exciting new creations and ensemble members of the Bayerisches Junior Ballett München excelling in Marco Goecke’s 2025 creation for the ensemble «Devil’s Kitchen» we were thrilled to feel the support and warmth emanating from our loyal audience this morning.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the myriad of people behind the stage that contribute to bringing our Matinees to the historic Nationaltheatre stage -

Such a performance couldn’t take place without the support of so many people behind the stage — we are so thoroughly grateful indeed!
