«Bildingsinstitut Kavalchuk is a wonderful school. I felt supported by both the teacher and the director of the school the entire time I was there.
My teacher, Stoja, made sure that every student understood whichever new grammatical concept or vocabulary that we were learning before moving on with the lesson. No student was ever left behind to feel confused. We were also taught almost entirely in German – Stoja would use her entire body to express herself while still speaking German – rather than translate into English – so that every student could understand.
I really enjoyed this style of learning – as I found it challenging but also engaging. And what better way to learn a language than to be fully immersed in it from the very beginning?
As we progressed closer to the B1 (intermediate) level – I enjoyed having more complex conversations with other students from all over the world, comparing cultures, traditions, backgrounds, etc.
The classroom felt like a very safe space to express oneself – and not be afraid to make mistakes. As Stoja says “Wir lieben Fehler!” (We love mistakes!). For that is how we learn and improve!»
