Yesterday, we visited the Munich-based software company, iteratec and spoke with one of its founders about their brilliant succession strategy: a cooperative was founded to buy out the founders using future profits as leverage. The two founders could have simply sold their company to the highest bidder, but felt that the unique and inclusive workplace environment may be threatened by new external owners. The model they chose in the end could serve as a prototype for solving Germany's succession crisis.
