A huge thank you to APEM for helping us make our Formula Student race car even safer! 🏎️🚨

Our Cockpit Indicator LEDs keep the driver informed about the current vehicle status and show whether all safety-relevant systems are ready for operation. In case of an emergency, one of our three Emergency Switches can immediately put the vehicle into a safe state by shutting down the high-voltage system and/or drivetrain. Additionally, the Brake Over-Travel Switch (BOTS) automatically disconnects the drivetrain if the brake pedal is pressed unusually far due to a fault. 💪

With partners like APEM, we can implement safety at the highest level in our race car. Thank you for your support! 🙌

Engineering race cars starts with a powerful software. 🏎️💨

Thanks to Siemens Deutschland Siemens Software, our team is equipped with Siemens NX, Nastran and StarCCM for the past few season. These state-of-the-art tools are essential in helping us solve complex engineering challenges, optimize our vehicle, and stay competitive on the track.

We are immensely grateful to Siemens for providing the software licenses that power our development pipeline from the smallest part to the final car design. Together, we’re ready to tackle every challenge on and off the track!

Fine-tuning our vehicle dynamics with H&R Spezialfedern GmbH & Co KG ! 🏎️🛠️

In our suspension setup, every spring plays a crucial role in controlling chassis movement and keeping the car stable under all track conditions. This season, we rely on high-performance H&R springs for our decoupled spring-damper system: with dedicated roll and heave springs both front and rear.

This decoupled architecture allows our suspension engineers to tune heave and roll stiffness completely independently. By selecting the exact spring rates from H&R, we can optimize aero balance, manage load transfer during cornering and braking, and extract the absolute maximum performance and grip from our vehicle on track.

A massive thank you to H&R for supporting us with lightweight, ultra-precise spring technology for the upcoming season!🏎️

🇮🇹FS ATA 2026 Recap

And that’s a wrap on our season! For our final event of the year, CARO (CM-26x) headed to Varano de‘ Melegari for Formula Student ATA. Five days of scrutineering, statics and dynamics to close out the season.

The week started strong. After crossing the Alps and setting up camp, we worked our way through Accumulator, Mechanical and E-Scrutineering, Driver Egress and Inspection, sorting out grounding issues along the way. DV Scrutineering, the Rain Test, Tilt Test, weighing, Brake Test and finally the EBS Test followed, meaning we collected all of the stickers. After the tight margins we faced at Hockenheim, getting through the full technical inspection here was a big step for the team.

The Statics became the highlight of our week. At the Award Ceremony we secured 3rd place in Engineering Design, 6th in Cost & Manufacturing and 9th in the Business Plan Presentation. Especially the Engineering Design podium, after a lot of praise from the judges, is a result the whole team can be proud of.

The Dynamics were a different story. Acceleration, Skidpad, DV Autocross and DV Trackdrive all saw us on track, but a valid run stayed out of reach: cones, finish line detection that didn’t trigger, and finally a fundamental issue that sent Caro straight instead of around the course. Not what we were hoping for, but every attempt showed us exactly where we need to improve.

Huge thanks to our alumni for the support throughout the week, and to all our sponsors and partners who made this season possible. Most of all, thank you to every single team member for every late night, every fix, every setback and every time you got back up and tried again, this season was defined by exactly that.

The season is over, the work isn’t. On to the next one. 🏁

Day 5 at FS ATA 🇮🇹

Our final day at FS ATA brought one last push for the team. After charging the battery, debugging and the trackwalk, we headed to the DV Autocross. Caro made it through the course cleanly on the first run, but the finish line detection didn’t work, meaning the run couldn’t be counted. After three more attempts, we unfortunately couldn’t put down a valid run.

In DV Trackdrive, we made it onto the track again, but a fundamental issue caused the car to drive straight instead of following the course. With no quick fix possible, we had to call it there. Not the results we were hoping for, but seeing Caro run and being able to identify what we need to improve gives us plenty to take into next season!

Most importantly, a huge thank you to our entire team. For every late night, every fix, every setback and every time you kept going. We couldn’t have made it through this season without you. And just like that, the season comes to an end. We’re leaving FS ATA with plenty of learnings, but even more memories. ❤️

Day 4 at FS ATA — Podium in Engineering Design! 🏆

Day 4 started early in the pit to charge the accumulator. We spent the morning debugging our driverless system to prepare for Skidpad, and picked up our feedback from Engineering Design, Cost & Manufacturing and Business Plan along the way.

In the afternoon it was time for Skidpad. Unfortunately, it wasn’t our day, after two attempts we couldn’t set a valid run.
The evening more than made up for it: at the Statics Award Ceremony we secured 3rd place in Engineering Design, 6th in Cost & Manufacturing and 9th in the Business Plan Presentation! A great reward for all the work, and we celebrated it properly at the Pasta Party. 🎉

Tomorrow is all about driverless: DV Autocross and DV Trackdrive, before we pack up the pit.
One more day. Let’s make it count! 🔥

🇮🇹 Day 3 at FS ATA — Scrutineering complete! 🏁

Day 3 was another busy one — and a very successful one for our team! 💪

We kicked things off with Cost & Manufacturing, followed by a smooth Tilt Test and weighing. We then completed DV Scrutineering without any major issues. ✅

Meanwhile, our alumni worked hard on the Brake Test, which we successfully passed after a few attempts. 🛠️

Next up was Engineering Design. We were able to answer almost all questions confidently and received some great feedback and praise from the judges. A very rewarding experience for the whole team! 🧑‍🔧

Finally, it was time for the EBS Test. After a few attempts, we successfully passed it on our fourth try — meaning all our scrutineering stickers are now complete! 🎉⚡

We wrapped up the day with Acceleration. Unfortunately, despite several attempts, we couldn’t complete.

Still, Day 3 was a huge success for us, and we’re proud of what we achieved today. 🔥
Now it’s time to recharge and get ready for the next day! 🚀

FS ATA Day 2 🇮🇹

Today was all about clearing scrutineering hurdles, and we made some serious progress! We successfully completed Mech, Accu, and E-Scruti, Driver Egress & Driver Inspection, fixing the remaining issues along the way and receiving our first stickers. 🔧✅

We also had our Business Plan Presentation today. Our team did an amazing job, and we hope we managed to convince the judges! 📊👏

In the afternoon, we tackled DV Scrutineering before heading straight into the Rain Test. After a long day, we secured another sticker and finished the day on a high! 🌧️🏁

Tomorrow: Statics, the final DV inspection, Brake Test & EBS. And if everything goes to plan, we’ll finally hit the track for DV Acceleration. Another day, another step forward. Let‘s keep pushing! 💪🏎️

🇮🇹 Day 1 at FS ATA!

After crossing the Alps, we arrived at the campsite right on time, set up camp and got our pit ready for the days ahead. ⚡

At first we managed to get into the Accumulator Scrutineering. We spent the rest of the day working in the Scrutineering and are confident we can get the sticker quickly. 🔋✅

We also started the E-Scrutineering, where we identified a few grounding issues that we’ll tackle tomorrow.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a slot for Mechanical Scrutineering, so that’s our first priority in the morning.

The day wrapped up with the Opening Ceremony, officially kicking off the competition! 🚀
